My Battery Life Extended

i dont like fastboot, it doesn't turn the phone off it just hibernates it :@

ok so do it again but after long charge, unplug, pull battery, replace battery, charge for hour, pull battery, replace battery, on for 5 mins, pull battery, replace battery, charge for hour lol

Ah, ok, there are 2 methods, apologies I was getting confused :o.

The method I've used previously has been -

1. Charge the battery whilst the handset is on until it reads 100%. Leave it on charge for half an hour or so once the light turns green.
2. Turn the handset off, take the battery out, then put it back in.
3. Plug the charger in until the light turns green.
4. Once green, unplug, wait a min or so, put the charger back in (the charging light should be orange), take out once the charging light is green again.
5. Repeat until the charging light is green as soon as you put the charger in. (could take an hour or so).

ok cool thanks, probably be the weekend now but will try that. Is that known to help as well? My battery has improved since what I done, but always keen for more lol

Okay, so here is the latest on my extended battery life since receiving my phone a couple of weeks ago...

Here it is at 17% left.

Look how long I've gone!
1 day 21hrs 27mins 3secs.

So that is nearly 2 whole days without a charge, and that is with me using facebook and twitter on and off throughout that time and taking 50+ photos of my dog on two seperate walks + 1 short video.

This is still on the battery that came with the phone. So this will be more interesting when and IF I receive my 1800mah battery from Obostore.

Okay, received the battery from Obostore this morning and stuck it in.

It came charged at about 60%. I have now fully charged it and I will report back on my Stats later. ;)

The Americans have the HTC Inspire which is either exactly, or almost exactly the same as our phone and both are referred to as the HTC Ace. So presumably it works in both phones.

EDIT: Note to self - type faster :P

How slow do you type I even had chance to edit my post lol ;)

I googled the Inspire to make sure I wasn't making stuff up about them being the same :p

Yep, they are twinnehs. That's why I come on this DHD forum, it is very helpful! I am very curious to see if that HTC ace battery works. Although, when I was in the obo website, I couldn't find it.

Lucky man :) They told me mine was shipped on the 28th.

Install Battery Monitor Widget and let us know the mAh.

Okay, just installed that App as you suggested, and here's a couple of pics...

Now don't I have to change that value manually? I'm sure I've read this somewhere on this forum?

If so, I assume this is the screen for that...

I'm not doing anything yet though until you experts tell me! lol.
:D

I actually forgot about the fact it has to be changed manually, makes the request kinda pointless, apologies. Be interesting to see what the mAh of these batteries really is.

There is a way to test, but it involves putting your phone in airplane mode and leaving completely alone for a few days. I didn't read the exact details, but I CBA doing that!

Be interesting to hear your thoughts on if it made a difference. Although you've only just got your handset haven't you?

Yeah. Only had it for about 2 weeks. As I showed previously, I got 1day 21hours with 17% power left in my original battery. So I'll show what I get with this next. Might wait until I've given it a few charges first though, then let you know.

Intriguing stuff isn't it? lol.

I'd never have believed that I'd be so fascinated with tweaking batteries until this thread. I'm not sure how I feel about it :(

Indeed ;)

I hope the new battery does what it's supposed too, but I'm not holding out much hope!
