My Droid DNA Review

Interesting one of the reviews in my round-up mentioned that it was in fact Verizon who limited the phone to 16GB.

Engadget also mentioned they see Verizon being responsible for nixing the microSD slot too, since the J Butterfly has one...

Do you find the screen to be bright enough That was the primary reason I never even considered the GS3....the screen was way too dark even at max brightness. Also how clear and loud is the built-in speaker?

Screen rocks, totally blows my girls SG3 screen away.

Speaker is great for calls, jammed some Pandora as well and it sounded pretty Damn good

NightAngel79 is right on. When you see the device next to the Galaxy S3 you'll be blown away. The difference is like night and day.

I will say this about the speaker: the back of the device is so flat, that often if it's laying down on something with a little bit of pliability, like a stack of papers for instance, it actually muffles the sound. Hard surfaces like a desk or table are fine, but a few times I've had it sitting on something and didn't even hear it ringing because the speaker was covered.

On the bright side, you can lay it on its screen to avoid that issue, and still have a notification light. I love that little feature.

There are two, one in the speaker grill on the front, and one in the back to the left of the camera lens. Very neat feature IMO.

It all comes down to keeping the subsidized price at 199.00 to compete with the entry level iPhone and Razr. I really believe that. I'm betting that the new screen technology is pretty expensive and both HTC and Verizon wanted to keep the price low.

My gripe is why they didn't offer two models, a 16 and 32 GB models. This also allows them the opportunity to offer a "new or better" one in six months.

This also seems to maybe be a new trend, with the Nexus 4, the DNA and the Note 2 all being limited to onboard storage. What ever the reason, I don't like it.

Well I do believe the Note 2 does have an sd card slot.

I do think the price aspect does have a little to do with it. But I still have a feeling Verizon is pushing no expandable memory to push up data usage for more revenue.

Yeah, I suspect they'll push an upgraded model in six months too. I'd wait that long but I'm not certain my DINC1 would last till then. Keeps overheating into a reboot if I push a 3G signal for more than several minutes on it, ugh. My poor DINC1 is dying :(

I hope you guys are right. My son has an upgrade in February. The 16GB will absolutely not work for him, but he would definitely buy the 32GB version if battery life turns out to be o.k....

Regarding the lack of am SD card.... I remember last year when the gnex came it was stated that one of the reasons for that is that internal storage offers better and faster performance than external storage. Having said that I still believe there should have been a 16GB and a 32GB option.

Phones are just like computers. If you wait something faster, quicker, bigger will always come along. So in six months when the S4 is quoted for release then what will people wait on. When a phone releases to market for consumer purchase, its already outdated...
