Root my first attempt at building from source...

well i finally got my linux machine set up so i can do some buildin' with the best! :D

so far i just slightly customized CWM recovery... (i changed the backround to something i thought was pretty cool. and guess what.. it worked!!! :p i posted it below if anyone would like to try it out.

it is from isaac's source, and is updated to v5.0.2.7 (newer than what is currently posted)

Nice man! As soon as I get done with bROM v1.1(it's almost done!) I am starting on my CM build. I am going to try to theme out the recovery by like chaning text color and everything. I know how to change the icons, but I don't know about the text color!

Thanks! :D it was just a test for now. I think the colors go by red, green, blue, and alpha. But I'm not sure.... I didn't see any hex colors in there. I'm gonna build a froyo kernel next
 
Nice work ziggy, I was planning to work on CWM but I couldn't find the source for 5.0 for the triumph. I would give you a thanks, except that my thanks button doesn't work at all. You should also change thread name, to get more readers.

What file do you modify to change the text colors? I wanna make a lime green themed CWM based on the latest source.

@Austire, syncing the repo should update you to the latest CWM source as well as the latest CM7 source since they are connected!

It's RGBA, so the last numerical value would be the alpha level. Obviously, everything is going from 0 - 255.

Code: 
R: 0 - 255, G: 0 - 255, B: 0 - 255, A: 0 - 255

When I made a "custom" recovery, I just Google'd a RGB code generator and used that to create some cool colors and grab the codes.
 
Yeah I use photoshop cause I know the color codes for the colors I use in my graphics editing and just look at the RGB values. I just didn't know the order of them! Thanks alot man! I also found out where to change the name of the recovery :)

I plan on working on a CWM here soon, as well, makybe we should make a "Custom Recovery" thread or something and link all of the current ones.
 
Well, which thread is that? Is it the recovery thread linked in the root guide? They don't really want more than a few posts stickied at the top. That is why there is the big root guide with all the super helpful posts in that. You can always PM me or another guide/mod to let us know of something you think needs added.
 
If you want your custom recovery linked in that other recovery thread, pm me and I can add your link to it.
 
Well, I got a CWM recovery built. :D I themed out a decent amount of it, but I want to get some more done and tweak a few things before I share it.

Which recovery thread were you referring to earlier?

Nevermind, I know which one.
It's linked in the root guide. It is a great post, but like I said they don't want too many stickies (this forum is pretty much maxed).
