Some random times when I just turn on my phones screen I notice my GPS is sending out a signal when nothing is even running. This even happened once when my GPS was off and no matter what I did it wouldn't turn off. How can I find out what is using my GPS?
I am not aware of a way to track exactly what gps is doing...but you gave it permission
two things you can do is
1. turn off google location services. this was most likely turned on at set up and is very helpful when doing searches etc... but google does use this information as well
menu.settings.location.location setting and turn off
2. If it's really really bugging you
menu.settings.location.turn off use wifi and turn off use gps, as well as step 1.
This will completely turn off GPS...it will need to be turned back on when you actually need it.
BTW, if you are rooted and do not wish to be tracked constantly by Google,
the Location Cache Map app "ch.rrelmy.android.locationcachemap" is recommended.
