I've had this issue. rebooting usually works, sometimes needs more than one attempt. Try rebooting after turning gps off, and or with gps on. I had to reset on one occasion but hopefully this won't be a frequent occurrence.

so, it stopped working right after you flashed a new rom?
have you tried restoring a nand backup?
What rom are you running?

Need as much info about your phone as possible to troubleshoot.

Moving this to the root section.

Definitely sounds ROM related. +1 for more info and it'd be nice to test on another ROM to verify function.

I'd try this first but I would also boot into recovery. Wipe both caches and reboot. My phone wouldn't recognize my internal memory and this was what finally worked.
