hey folks, just to report back... I did a fair amount of digging into the issue my friend was having with her phone (not waking up from lock and random reboots) looking through the O2X stuff (I know they are not the exact same thing but pretty close) and decided to tell her (after a factory reset) to take the phone back and swap it out (because it appears with the o2X the lg knows about the issue, thats it is not on every phone/widespread and they have a fix in the works)
she took it to t-mobile, got a new one and has not had one single issue. no reboots, no "no-wakes" nothing...
shes VERY happy with the phone now
my friend dad works for LG and he says it a software problem
I've been stoked with this phone so far even though there have been a few issues. New phones always seem to have some issues out of the gate. A couple bug fixes and we'll be good.
On another note:
The amount of phones you've gone through is pretty staggering Carmen, lol. How's the Sidekick 4G?
But i have lowered my phones this year vs the amount of phones i've had this year around this same time(only a mytouch, g2, HD7 and Sidekick 4g.....I had owned quite a bit of phones by April 2010 last year)Yes, Yes i knowBut i have lowered my phones this year vs the amount of phones i've had this year around this same time(only a mytouch, g2, HD7 and Sidekick 4g.....I had owned quite a bit of phones by April 2010 last year)
But the sidekick is an incredible device. I actually thought about doing a review for Youtube(my first Android review) but finals are coming up at school and i dont have the time!
I love the keyboard, design , hardware and UI of the sidekick. Just a fun device and the G2X looks lovely as well...I just hate Stock Android with an extreme passion

Sweet. That makes it an easy fix. Can you get more info from him, like what exactly is causing it?
it was caused by them going to fast
Haha yes I've done the same this year. It's too hard to go cold turkey. I think you should do a sidekick review I'd love to see it. I've thought about that phone a lot because I used to use sidekick phones and it's almost a nostalgic feeling for me. I'm liking the G2X a lot and I've messed with the UI enough so it's not just a plain android screen.![]()
If i can get about 2 hours of free time this week, i will definitely try and do it.is the G2x the same phone as the Lg Optimus 2X...just with a G thrown in front of it for tmobile?
That probably means i would like the Optimus 2x because i generally like all skins vs stock android
Hell, I love the blur found on phones like backflip, devour etc. vs stock....ughhh

Ewwww really? I owned the Cliq for a few days when it came out, I hated blur. I agree that maybe you'd like SPB Shell though. I'd be curious to try a sense 3.0 rom on the G2X if someone does a Sensation port, but I likely would still go back to Vanilla anyway.
Ehh, I'll check it out. It has to be great to be 15 bucks haha
And I love Blur but it's obvious you and I use our phones differently. I like Blur because of the social networking aspects. I really had no need to download 3rd party apps because the integration was already built in to the phone/os
Android natively sucks at social networking integration and even UI like Sense, touchwiz, and timescape fail to match the social networking skills of Blur.
I like it that i can check twitter, facebook, myspace(dont use it anymore) at the same time i checked my texts and emails

Sense is somewhere towards the bottom...just only above stock ha
So Far 4G all day lowest was 2 bars usually its maxed. Love the WIFI calling option as well. My wake up problem was putting my SD card and reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeloading all the apps from the other phone. I do like the new 2.2.2 software. Seems to have its own app killer built in as well.
