Help my phone is useless, please help...

i have the sony ericsson xperia X8
when i try to connect to the wi-fi it states "application settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again"
i tried to do a system reset but i can't access my settings, it just shows a blank screen, i cannot add widgets either.
please help

Hi,

1) switch off your phone
2) go to your PC and start SONY Ericsson PC Companion
3) connect you phone (via usb cable) to PC
4) repair your phone's software.
