First off, a disclaimer: Do not try this at home, YMMV.

I was walking home from getting groceries, and the motion of the 8-pack of paper towels i had under my arm apparently was rubbing on my hip in such a manner that it weaseled my phone out of my pants pocket.

My phone got ran over by a car. No case, other than a "looks-only" color-silicone thingy.

The screen isn't broken, and everything still works. When i grabbed it off the road, it was screen-up, but i can't say for sure whether it was when it got ran over.

Granted, the car was a mazda miata, not a ford F-950 or something, but STILL.

That is all, good day :D

These are tough little phones. I've dropped mine more times than I can remember and even got it wet. Still rolling along

I got a razon like that, was burried in ice and snow and had been run over for several days atleast. Worked fine still. Police didn't want it and no way I was returning a phone to the owner filled with text messages about buying and selling drugs.

My phone has survied being drop out of a two story window, dropped into a toliet, thrown out of a rollercoaster, ran over by a car, and dropped into a pool. I've only ever had to replace the battery twice, and the screen just has one scratch on it, from a box cutter being open in my pocket with my phone.

Lol, I treat my phone like a vase from the Ming Dynasty.... and it has one little scratch near the LG logo, but it's only visible when you shine a light on it. The only thing that bugs me is there's a bunch of dust behind the screen!!!! Ahhhh.

well geeze Buzz Killington... here i was all thrilled and whatnot with my apparent good luck. :D

Really though... I forgot/excluded a bit of backstory out of "thrillage." It was an oddly thrilling and confusing incident. I was jamming to some music via my stereo-bluetooth-headset-thingy at the time - the only reason i noticed i'd dropped the phone was it started cutting out. When reaching/looking down at my phone - it wasn't there. So i turned around, and witnessed The Great Kerplunk. So i panic and go to retrieve it, milliseconds later asking myself "Why am i still hearing my music ?"

Well now i know :D

PS: This one incident makes it OK with me that i paid full price for the phone 2 days prior to Best Buy had a $60 special on them.

Wow I've dropped my phone on occasion....not sure it would survive a rollercoaster or 2 story building.

My old Rumor 2 flew out the car window; I stopped traffic and picked up the 3 pieces it had gone into (phone, battery, battery cover). It lasted a few more months after that (lasted a year total then died for good). My OV has lasted 1 year and 1 month so far with low to moderate abuse from me.

I read somewhere that an optimus v fully protected in otterbox case survived a nine floor drop in a elevator shaft. Slipped through the elevator
raceway while he was getting on ( Mr murphy).

I wanna see video evidence of that one. Lol, I dropped a company cell phone (unprotected) into an elevator shaft while constructing a parking structure. It only dropped 4 stories, but it shattered on impact. A 9 story drop onto a 3-4 foot thick concrete floor will destroy any phone no matter how well protect by an Otterbox. It would be like pitching it to a Pro Baseball player and letting him hit it.

yeah I've dropped mine so many times. I lost my sd card once, it flew out once time after hitting the ground very hard. Not a huge deal though... just popping in a spare I had laying around. these phones are built like tanks!

My old ov survived a run in with a NYC subway!!!. It was about 6 months ago... when I dropped it a train was coming it got hit by the train but landed in between the tracks when the train left I went onto the tracks picked it up to see It was working great, then I jumped back onto the Platform only to realize I actually went onto the tracks lol....needless to say this phone is like a Timex.. takes a licking and keeps on ticking...

Got another thing to add to the list, I went swimming in a riving with the phone in my pocket, must have been a good 30, 40 minutes before I realized the phone was in my pocket. Guess what, still works (after putting it in rice, of course.) Though with the tragic lost of my lock button, and some water damage on the screen. The phone still works just as good though. I might not upgrade my phone for a while after all now, this thing is tough.
