Help My pictures are gone

So i just upgraded to froyo. I used to have 400+ pictures on the phone, and now I have 108. Most of them are just gone. It seems they are random as the first ones I took are still there and some of the recent ones are there too. Where the hell did they go?
 
so i just updated to froyo. not only has it deleted 300 of my 400 pictures, but it also wont read my SD card now. I tried rebooting but that did nothing. Anyone else have any ideas?
 
So I just upgraded and now 300 or so of my 400+ pictures are gone. Also the phone wont read my SD card anymore. So if you havent received your update yet, I suggest backing everything up.
 
The first step before ANY update is to BACKUP YOUR STUFF!!!! You never know what may happen, and it takes all of 10 minutes to copy over your photos and run a backup of your contacts.

This holds true for anything; PC, Phone, Brain implant, etc.
 
1) Why wouldn't you have backed them up?
2) Maybe they are on the SD card, and you just can't access.

Try putting the sd card in a card reader.
 
Didnt think to back them up, also no one else has had this problem.

Tried using the SD card in a reader, I think its dead now...

The thing I dont understand is it just deleted random pictures. I still have some of them, my most recent ones I have, and also the first ones I took are there, but then there is a huge gap where they are just gone
