Hey all,

I live in Southern California and have a HTC incredible 2 on Verizon Wireless. So I rooted my phone probably 8-9 months ago and yesterday my phone's charging jack has become loose (or something?) when I plug the phone in it will only charge if I place it in a very specific position. Last night I set the phone charging, and when I woke up this morning it was dead. My question is, when I rooted the phone did it void the warranty or Could I still get them to replace it if I took it in?

If the warranty is voided, is it possible to flash to a stock rom so they wouldn't know it and I could get a replacement anyway? If the warranty is voided I think I'd rather just say I lost it and pay the 100 dollar deductible to get a new one through insurance.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

is it possible to un-root my phone? I kinda jumped the shark and called verizon and they said they'd send me a new phone, i didnt realize during the process that they want me to send them the broken one afterwards... I figure if I can't unroot I will just tell them I lost it before I could send it and hopefully eat the insurance deductible. Any advice about better courses of action?

EDIT: I found this link to un-root my phone:

if I use this and it bricks my phone, is there any way to tell? Will verizon be able to tell it's bricked and not just broken? thanks!

It's unlikely that Verizon will check your phone but this is a discussion of fraud and so it isn't allowed on this forum.

It is possible to unroot, yes. Is it moral? No. Do people do it? Yes.

Btw, it's fraud to falsely say you lost your phone.

In order to maintain legality and compliance to site rules, I'm going to close this thread.

OP: If you want to find out how to unroot, the info is out there.

Steven
