Help My storage is rapidly depleting

Hello, I have a major problem. A few hours ago, I was given a notification on my GNex that it is about to run out of space. I instantly denied it since it was at a gig this morning, and I haven't really used my phone today.

I tried deleting files deleting unneeded stuff. It came to .93 GB
I reset the page and it was then .80
At this moment I have 690MB left. And its falling.
Can anybody tell me what i need to do?

My phone hasn't been rooted yet. Haven't had time.

All I can suggest is to hook it up to a PC and check out the storage contents to see if you can locate a huge file that you don't expect should be there. It sounds like something is almost loading material onto your internal storage on an ongoing basis right now? Hopefully it might be located at the /sdcard level which can be seen and browsed.

Use an app called Storage Analyzer and it will show you what is taking up so much space.
Thanks so much!
I installed this app, and it broke down everything I have on my phone. So I deleted a bunch of files I don't need anymore, and it restored some space.

I don't know what caused it, but my storage was perfectly fine after this.

Thanks again!

You can also simply go into Settings - Storage to get a high level break down between apps, pictures, downloads, audio, cache data etc.
