My thoughts on Antonio Brown....

Don't know who he is but if management think they could run a brothel without the staff then they're so wrong. A business would crumble quicker if the employees left but it'd be fine if a manager or two disappeared.

but i guess the Pats are now becoming Raiders 2.0
Except the Pat's win. :p

Here's my take from the perspective of a die hard Pats fan going back to to 80s when they were the laughing stock of the league. I didn't want him. I threw up in my mouth when I heard they signed him. That said, the Pats are the only team where he could be successful because they won't hesitate to cut him if he doesn't tow the line. They don't NEED him. He is a luxury for them, even after they traded Demarias Thomas. If he goes off like 2007 Randy Moss and catches 26 TDs, then great. If he goes off like the 2011 Randy Moss and shoots his way out of town, then great.

And I'm not touching the rape lawsuit aspect, as there need to be a lot more facts. And that isn't because he wear's the laundry of my team. There are just way too many holes in the story and unknowns at this point. If he did it he should suffer the harshest of consequences, but it needs to be fleshed out first.

Let me stir the AB / Pats pot a bit. Just for conversation sake only... What if the Pats had AB's ear prior to his Raider antics. Here is what you do AB.. and when you are cut we'll pick you up and we'll gather more jewelry in the process.
Everyone KNOWS that the Pats NEVER bend the rules a bit.... right? No taping of opponents defensive signals or under inflated footballs for the Pats... no sir. :)

Do keep in mind that I'm not calling out the Patriots. All teams want to win and will try just about anything to do so. It's big money and when money is involved.. the clever usually do the reaping. My above paragraph is just wild speculation and truly tossed out for conversation. AB has his problems but what went on with the Raiders was over the top. I'm convinced he wanted out with a chance to play for a better team. I'm not convinced he's clever enough to scheme up what went down.

Actually Kudos to the Pats if that's really the way it went down. They got a great receiver. They have him on a short leash and a short contract. They gave up no future draft pics or finances to the Steelers like the Raiders and yet now he's now on their roster. A pretty smart move by the Pats if it was indeed part of the their master plan.

The truth is probably not far off. AB knew the Pats were interested as he got permission to seek a trade, and the Pats offered a 1st round pick. The Steelers refused to trade him to anyone in the AFC North or the Patriots, so he was shipped to the Raiders. My speculation is that he was initially OK with the Raiders to get out of Pittsburg until he got there, and decided it wasn't a good fit. Little publicized fact is that he hired social media consultants to help shoot his way out of Oakland. Once he was a free agent, it was easy for the Pats to give him a 1 year show me deal.

They are great contenders without him. I'm glad that I was wrong about the pats and a master plan. Sure was good soup though... yes? AB... what becomes of AB now? Does he find a team this year or will he get the NFL package and watch the games? Pretty crazy stuff when he is a really talented dude.

screw the Super Bowl!!!!!!!

Well, more reps for camp standout UDFA Jacoby Meyers (sp?), will be getting TE1 Ben Watson back after week four, and can expect N'Keal Harry back from IR later in the season. I think they will be fine. That's why the Brown signing was low risk for the Pats, they didn't need him.

Some team will sign him, maybe once the dust settles. I'm still unsure the merits of these allegations as some things don't pass the sniff test. I mean, what lawyer demands the NFL make someone stop harassing a client? Don't the police or criminal justice system do that?
