Root my thoughts on rooting

You're on the latest version at present so obviously won't know until a new one comes out. Should work fine, though. I've never had any issues with OTA updates prior to rooting

rooting is the answer /end
its easy to return (depending on carrier)
rom updates are easy as they are more or less intergrated into stock rooted roms the day they come out from htc
the stock rooted roms are as stable as stock
no command line is needed for root anymore

rooting is not for you, you have a hang up about it. i would never push someone to root however to say its not the answer!!! you are gravely mistaken about 60% of the phones functionality is lost without root

And I should care about this for what reason??? I am not a developer and I do not get my rocks off putting new roms on my phone, all I care about is the phone doing what it was intended for making calls and before some smarta** pops up and says well just get a stupid phone, it is my business on what and how I spend my money no one else's.

I have no hang up , I just do not like it no BONES about it and it is not the answer I get my phone to do just what I want it to. As for saying I do not know about it, I had a cell phone for so many years it is crazy infact my first phone was $3000.00 and it was $2.00 a minute to use it, there were no contracts and there were very few mobile phones around then!!! I may not be some computer GEEK that thinks the world revolves around writing phone rom's, I just want a good unbranded phone that I can get my unlimited $15.00 data plan on and not be bothered by AT&T and make phone calls with, it is not some mini super computer but just a phone!!!! Also unless you know me do not make assumptions about me or my HANG UP's!!!! NUFF SAID!!!! As for me telling people my view's well that is my business I do believe it is a public forum and people can say what is on their mind's just as you did!!!

big words, like i said i think you have issues with rooting
its not thats its not the answer, you are fine to not have root
most people want more from a phone, unfortunately htc have put limitations on it to a point where you need to root for more apps space
this isnt fake, its fact
its nothing to do with geek either, you have so many non nerds her having issues with storage and thinking the phone is crap because of htcs limitations
if you bought a desire just to make calls and browse the odd website then good for you. i expect more from a smartphone. i didnt even ask that and im not a smartass

I just think your comment saying "its not the answer" is ill founded mainly because it has no basis

not the answer to what?

i mean if you dont care, why on earth are you even posting on a rooting forum saying "its not the answer"

you also seem to be a little delusional, where on my post do i say anything about custom roms? where do i sau anything about
As for saying I do not know about it
i can make an assumption about your thoughts on rooting if you make ill founded comments about how all the custom roms suck and you have to wait for updates?????
i mean how do you know this from a desire perspective if youve not done it?

because you had a bad experience on one device you make sure you will not do it again ever on any others?

i mean thats like me saying "my last girlfriend was a psychopath that messed up my life so all women are like this and from now on im only going to say hello to them"
^ crap analogy i know but at this time of night its the best i can come up with :P

again its not the answer for you, rooting sorts alot of shit out for this phone, thats not fictional that is fact. you dont need to be a geek
as always there is a risk involved with anything, dont ever take your phone outside as you might drop it or get water on it

Again, since the burglars had mine, I got it replaced with a newer one.

That said, I need a new laptop, but this requirement came to light after I had already rooted. I may return to stock with an RUU to see if rooting gets me the laptop.
