Root My Verizon Mobile error with Bus. Gingersense ROM v2

Hey all,

Just got my Incredible off eBay (came from LG Ally and wow, what a difference) and am having some fun with it. Rooted it within a couple days of running stock and installed the Bus. Gingersense ROM and love it. Everything is working well app wise except for the My Verizon Mobile app which gives you an account summary w/ minutes, data, etc. (I'm sure most of you know what this app is). When I try to run the app I get this error:

There was an error communicating with the server.

My guess is that something is being communicated via the app and maybe it "knows" I have a non-stock ROM? Is that too crazy to think? App worked fine on stock, but after root and custom rom install...notta.

Any ideas? I like using this app to keep track of minutes easily.

Weird, might not be compatible with that particular rom. I know it works on cm7 and skyraider. Did you do a fresh install of it or a restore from titanium?

Thanks for the reply.

Did a fresh install. Uninstalled, and did another install. Still not working.

Thinking about wiping and reflashing ROM one more time, but am curious if others have this issue as well before proceeding.

EDIT: some research on the market revealed others having issues since last update. Nothing specific to my server error message.

I'm on the same Rom and it does work. I've had several instances of the same thing you mentioned though. It's spotty.

I have to use an older version of that app that I have from titanium backup. The updated version from the market won't work. I'm running cm7 nightly 108. I've tried it with a few of my backup roms as well (cm7, evervolve, and kingdom gingersense). Same result. Although I don't find it likely, it seems that its an app problem. But I'm a noob as well, so what do I know?

This app was recently changed to work on wireless. Prior to that you had to be on your 3G connection when using it. If anyone is having problems you might try switching to 3G and see if you're successful. I just think the app is iffy in its design which is sad since its a Verizon app.
