My VZW Customer Service Rant!

IMHO, Verizon has gotten better over time. I ordered the vCast music phone just before the enV came out. Two weeks later I wanted to change phones as I didn't know the vx9800 wouldn't support stereo bluetooth, and was not allowed to exchange. I raised H. E. double hockey sticks and was given 4 months of extra minutes because of the misleading information I got from the phone rep, and a chance to get $100 off the month to month price for the enV. Now they're giving customers a whole month to exchange, which I think is great.

I probably would have returned my phone if it had a dead pixel as well. If I noticed that the second phone lagged a lot, I probably would assume the manufacturer is garbage and would have switched to an LG or something. If I was dead set on getting the Droid, even after all of those problems, I would have returned to the store with a flashlight and magnifying glass to inspect every inch of a third Droid... and played with the phone for awhile before walking out the door.

"Fool me once..... shame on you. Fool me... fool me... can't get fooled again."

@d1pham,

Firstly, I'm not going to go out of my way to be accusatory, as there's really no reason from the story you posted to assume that you're at fault for receiving janky phones.

Secondly, let me deliver a bit of advice: in dealing with large corporations such as Verizon, I've found from my experience that it generally pays to push your point, if you will, and aggressively. If you're getting stonewalled by a store manager, make it known that you'll go over his head on the issue in a heartbeat; after all, it's their flaw in their product, and you didn't fork over your cash for their mistake. District managers and regional managers don't want to be bothered by these things, and if the issue of customer service reaches them directly, they're typically more inclined just to resolve said issue so it doesn't take up any more of their time. You don't have to bang your fist on the service counter, but strong eye contact and a firm tone of voice can work wonders.

Best of luck. And if you are, in fact, a troll, you can kindly go fornicate yourself with an aluminum pine cone. ;)

It is hard to photograph. I'll try with macro mode. It is about 1/2 a CM.

1/2 a cm!? You must be kidding. I wouldn't have left the store with a piece of lint that large even if it were a run of the mill flip phone that was free with NE2. I hope you are exaggerating.

It's always good to look over your phone and thoroughly test it before leaving the store, if you don't have enough time to do so then wait until you will. The company has no way of knowing if you are a scammer or someone with a real issue, but they have to treat it as the latter. Look at the new ETF, it got raised because of all the people getting BOGO Blackberry's and eBay'ing them. I know with the iPhone 3G dust/lint under the screen was a huuuge issue and it got to the point where Apple stopped replacing them for that reason alone.

When I got my DROID on launch day I was stuck at walmart for almost a hour because they had computer issues with porting my number over so I was lucky enough to really examine every MM of my DROID and I told the guy if I wasn't happy I wanted a different one. I guess I am one of the lucky people because my DROID has absolutely 0 issues, OS is perfect, call quality is perfect, signal stays solid 3G all over the state.

I had a similar experience with my imagio. The screen was off centered and there was a large gap on the top of the screen and the back light shined out. There is a forum in ppgeeks and this is a known issue

I called into the call center and they said they could send out a new one or stop into the store and they would replace it. I went to my local store and they said there was no issue with the phone and they couldn
