Root Myn's RLS4

I am giving this a full week, ive heard and read about it. I love fresh but i feel that the dev is neglecting his work, so time to move on

Myn's rom is fantastic. I really like it (using since RLS2).

As far as Fresh, the guy is getting married. I personally think that is a great reason to "neglect his work" since it is simply his hobby, not his vocation.

Hey just a heads up Fresh Dev was getting married soon so he hasn't had time to do anything, and me being married I can tell you its hectic and no time for side jobs for a bit.

For some reason I couldn't STAND the google widget in Warm... it never meshed well with the darker wallpapers I like to use (for obvious reasons if your on Myn's ROM). I went back to Fresh and finally updated to 3.4.1. Battery life seems so so, but performance is rock solid so far.

Anyone have issues trying to install Hulu from Warm Updater? I can download the file but when I try to update the file it shows an error when I reboot. Its the black screen with the droid error icon. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Are you using clockwork or RA recovery? Warm updater doesn't work with clockwork, if that's what you're using. Otherwise, maybe try downloading the update directly from the xda thread and do it manually.

Using clockwork. Thanks for the info. Would I be able to locate the download using Astro and install the file that way? Another question how can flash back to the stock keyboard since I can't do it from warm?

Nope, you have to flash it from recovery. You're better off just flashing RA recovery. If you're that attached to clockwork, you can use ROM manager to flash RA when you need it, then flash clockwork back after. That is, of course, if you want to use warm updater. You *shouldn't* have any problems flashing hulu from clockwork if you just do it manually. You can find the zip here:

hmm still seem to be getting poor battery life, even after setting up setcpu
any other tips/tricks for improving battery life?
Alternate kernels?

Alternate kernels?

I still haven't found a kernel combo with myns that results in what i had for battery life from the rom and kernel in my sig...

but I have only tried two.

going to try the netarchy kernels over the next week and see what happens

so far the sanappiest kernel was #17 but I like to overclock

also remember that some kernels do not combine well with setcpu...which could be the problem

Thanks i will try turning off setcpu and see if it helps or hurts, what's the easiest way to turn it off? Also You said you like to overclock, how do you overclock with the stock kernel?

The only kernels that don't play well with setcpu are HAVS kernels, and even at that, it's only profiles that don't work. They basically conflict with each other. However, sometimes, a kernel might very well work best without setcpu. That being said, the best way to turn off setcpu is completely disable all profiles, set it back to defaults (245-998 probably), then uninstall it or freeze it with titanium backup. You can use OS monitor to verify that it's running at the normal frequencies after that, if you want.

As far as overclocking is concerned, you can't overclock with the stock HTC kernel. You can disable the perf lock to scale from 245-998, but that's it. You need any other kernel to overclock, as most of them have been configured to go up to at least ~1.2 GHz. You still need setcpu, of course.

I can see how that could be taken the wrong way...I liked #17 but I like to overclock...so I moved to king's 11.

trying something different tomorrow. kings is ok...just isn't holding battery life like my previous set up was

Quick question-
I came from BakedSnack and had swype working perfectly. Now I'm on Myn's and can't get it to work. I tired un-installing and re-installing and still nothing.

I have it checked in my keyboard options so it should be the one that shows when I type messages.
Any thoughts?

Remember that you have to long press on an input field and select "input method". Does it show up for selection when you do that?

Hi guys,

I recently installed Myn's RLS4 rom on mine and my gf's evo. I used the same method of rooting (unrevoked) and installing the rom (clockwork recovery) on both phones. I also wiped the cache partition and dalvik cache prior to the rom install on both. We both are using the stock kernal that was part of the rom. On my phone the rom runs really fast and smooth. On hers it tends to lag and it actually froze her phone up a few times. I have HW004 and she has HW003.

Any suggestions on what could be causing the lag and slowdowns on her phone? Thanks!!

No idea of what could be causing it but maybe flash back to stock(or whatever you like) and redownload the ROM and then reflash it....wiping everything of course. I am willing to bet that would do the trick!

I need advice... Somehow I accidentally updated the Adobe Flash, and now I cannot use Hulu that came with the RLS4. I tried to reinstall the hulu from sd card via Rom Manager, but still wont load for me...

* I have now, un-installed Hulu, and Flash. Re flashed the Hulu add on from Myn, and installed a backed up version of Flash, still getting ...hulu unsupported on platform.
