N1, Droid, Iphone, which is better?

Why isn't the EVO in this comparision? The EVO is the best phone in the world, hands down. Nothing tops it. Period.

Take note that the N1, iPhone, and Droid are all devices currently on the market... the EVO isn't.

True, we're more than happy to dump it on our own doorstep. Have you checked out some of the general sub-forums recently? ;)

If you're referring to the OP then we'll have to disagree. It didn't read (to me) as anything other than a comparison of the most obvious (to a buyer) features. It actually invites discussion and debate, which is far more helpful to prospective Android converts than hollow praise or insulting replies.

I wasn't referring to the OP specifically, but have you seen the Froyo thread where a few low-post-count people popped out of the woodwork to prattle "Android is dead in the water, why do you care about 2.2? When the iPhone 4G comes out, it'll be even more dead than it already is" blah blah blah? Yeah, that.

I personally think it's one person, or a couple of people using proxies to troll. I think a stronger anti-troll rule should be in effect. What do you guys think?

One thing I felt I needed to add into the mix here is the removable battery. My iPhone 3GS that I owned before the N1 could barely last 12 hours of regular use. So what was the first thing I did when I got the new phone? Slapped a 3200 mAh battery in that puppy. To me, all the power and specs in the world don't amount to anything if the phone can't last from when you wake up till when you lay down.

I agree... talk to Phases.

A quick and easy How-To for dealing with suspected trolls: report the post!

Don't retaliate
Don't insult
Don't mock
Don't reply at all..... just hit the "Report Post" button.

Also remember that the definition of "trolling" does not include "posting an opinion that you don't agree with" or even "posting criticism of Android". A "troll" posts simply to get a reaction or start an argument, the subject is immaterial.

Hmmm... I'd take Moto's superior call quality (better than all the manufacturers combined), Iphone's slick UI, N1's build quality, X10's styling with its skin, Android Froyo and mixed them up to come up with a perfect phone.

Ok, enough of dreaming! It is difficult to really pick a winner among those but given those choices I'd go with the N1. It is overall a good phone compared to the rest. I just wish it had a TI OMAP processor than Snapdragon but for now that'll do.

I think you just described the Samsung Galaxy.

Okay... here's what I don't understand. Why do people who like the iPhone so damn much come to Android Forums and try to convince us that the iPhone is supperior to our amazing Android devices and post iCrap all over the place? We don't go to any iPhone forums and try to convince people there to buy an Android devices, tell them that their iPhone sucks, and fill their forums with crap. You're fighting a losing battle here...

Why get upset about it? The iPhone is a terrific phone and, hopefully, the Incredible that is supposed to be delivered to me this week will be, too. There's room in the marketplace for worthy competitors. In three years, we'll all be deriving the benefits of advances in iPhone and DroidPhone developments.

I would have purchased an iPhone long ago if the AT&T coverage in my area weren't so miserable.Verizon coverage for me, on the other hand, is very good. So I am glad to see I can get a new, top of the line, feature-filled phone that will do the job for me. But that doesn't mean I'm going to trash iPhones.

Now, trashing AT&T...that's acceptable! :D

Definitely! XD I hate AT&T lol, they dont care about people at all. There plenty of room for competitors. I'm personally excited to see the new Nokia N8 now that Symbian is Open Source. All these phones are really great phones, no need for anyone to insult anyone or start crap. Please try and express your opinions in a objective, neutral, non-threatening way. We dont need another thread full of Icrap or Droid garbage XP

Would you, or would you not, then qualify "Android is dead in the water anyway, iPhone wins!1!!" as trolling?

Nope, clearly that is simply the product of a deluded mind with no grasp on reality. Such a poster deserves sympathy, understanding..... and serious psychological therapy. :)

Precisely...

I also see that with Xbox owners coming to the PS3 forums... They jumped onto the first train that arrived at the station, and now sorely regret it.

I have owned both...

And SOLD my PS-3.. (yawn) over priced blue ray player!
When the amount of QUALITY games get to the half way point of where the 360's is right now, they might be getting somewhere....

And i belong to no forums.....

Hey everyone, GLbenchmark is available on android now, check out the results for all 3 of these devices. Seems the Iphone leads in the 3d like was thought, with the N1 and Droid essentially tied. If you look though, the N1 and Droid results really sort of surprised me, I pegged the Droid to bench better in gpu tasks over the N1, but mostly they are with 200 points of each other, with the N1 leading over the Droid in several of the tests (not what I expected).
