I've explored the file..
It looks like a full system dump to me.

And I can do one better... I'll email it to him.
 
A supposed dev at another forum says they will have to have the source code rather than a dump/update.zip. Do you know if this is true Trident? I tend to think not, but I'm not a programmer...

Ehh.. not much of a programmer myself. I actually just set up a Ubuntu development environment today and plan to build roms in the near future.

From what I understand, Pete does not build from the source code. Some devs do, some don't.

Pete should be able to pull it off.
 
Nice. I want to eventually get there as well, but I'm still learning how to theme (without MM/NM), so I have a ways to go before I get serious about learning actual rom baking stuff... :D

Yeah.. it certainly isn't easy. I'm confused as hell right now..

Hopefully I can get the hang of it..

My first project is compiling a rom from the 2.1 source code.
 
Now the waiting starts...LOL...I'm unemployed atm, so I have been watching this 2.2 stuff like a hawk. Oh well, at least I'll be busy tomorrow (Renaissance Faire & Laker Game)...That should keep me off the boards for a while...That and the Celtics game tonight.. :D
 
It feels like a race to get this done. I am torn if I will try it before BB. The more I think about it Pete has not done wrong. I will wait torn but wait.:cool:
 
Me 3! Man, I've been following this since early this morning...I actually sat there on XDA watching the Nexus One update.zip get posted...ROFL
