"From Clarivue's website for the EVO (this is for the privacy screen protector)"

uh, i won't use a privacy screen protector. i'll be getting the Ultra-clear

from Clarivue's website:
Will the screen protectors leave a sticky residue?
Our Ultra-Clear, Anti-Glare and Mirror screen protectors will not leave a sticky residue once removed. Our Privacy screen protectors have glue adhesive on the back and will leave sticky residue.

Chill out bro...just pointing somethings out...no need to get defensive. I'm okay with using their products either way. And after all individuals will decide if they want to go with one or without...it's not that serious. Are we cool?

And I use the privacy protector...just didn't want to spread misinformation.

ha, i didn't know we were uncool. i was just saying what i was looking at and listing facts from their website :p
the point of this wasn't to get into a debate of static cling versus spray solution screen protectors. it was actually to see if anyone knew of other companies that also used static cling screen protectors so i had some options. but i suppose most are set on using spray =/

Okay we're cool...and yeah, I was surprised that the privacy protector for the EVO would be adhesive and not use static cling.

I don't know, because I have their privacy protector on my 8900 right now and it uses static cling. Maybe the screen size played a part on going adhesive.

well that goes for ALL clarivue privacy screen protectors so it's got something to do with their prodcuts. what brand is on your 8900?

Although I didn't expect it to come in today, my Clarivue privacy screen protector arrived today. Wow! The screen on the EVO is freaking huge. It's going to be amazing compared to the screen on my Blackberry 8900.

As far as the protector is concerned, it looks just like the privacy screen protector currently on my 8900. Nothing different from what I can tell, just larger.

One step closer to my EVO! Let's go Seidio!!!!

that's awesome! would you mind posting pics of it or measuring the length? i'm interested in knowing if it will cover the buttons on the bottom. a measurement will do :D

also, i think i'm just getting a standard silicone case because i'll be making use of the car dock and i think it'll be easier to get the phone out of a silicone case versus a hard shell case.

i may change my mind, though, depending on how nice the cases are that come out for it. so far i haven't seen anything that really tickled my fancy, so to speak

I also just received my Clarivue. I'm concerned there might be some issues. There's some cutouts up top around the speaker grill, and I think the clarivue might be backwards (mirrored). I will post a pic in a little bit.

I currently am using a IS and never really liked the way it felt and trying to use the phone outdoors is basically impossible. With the Evo being a capacitive screen with a glass finish is a screen protector actually necessary? I have read that supposedly the screen on the HD2 is scratch proof.

I'm not sure why there are indentions (forgot about the front cam). Looking at the pics of the EVO, don't see why there should be any...hmmm.

Alright, here are the photos of the Clarivue.

As I said from my earlier post, I'm concerned that this initial batch may be cut backwards or mirrored from it how it should be. The third picture, with the screen protector flipped over, looks like the right fit, since the cutouts around the speaker grill look like they best fit around the front-facing cam:

Also, I'm not sure why there are cutouts (one larger and one smaller) on both sides of the speaker grill.

Any enlightenment and opinions would be appreciated, though at this point I'd recommend people to hold off on ordering the clarivue until we get things figured out. It does like it will cover the entire length of the face though. :)

Looking at the pics again, I bet it's a deeper cut for the front facing camera.

Right, but do you see what I'm trying to say: that the screen protector is cut backwards. It looks like it fits best when it's flipped upside down, with the the tacky side up and the slick side down (as in the 3rd picture). The 2nd photo is how Clarivue intends the installation (tacky side down)... but it seems backwards. :-/

According to the website, it looks like the labeled side #1 is the back and the red label is the front. So that means the shallow cut is for the cam. I guess we'll have to wait for someone else to post pics. I really hope Clarivue got this right. I've never had issues with their products before.

Exactly, so it's meant to be installed like in the second photo I took, with the #1 sticker facing down and the #2 sticker facing up. However, it looks like it should oriented with the #1 sticker facing up (like my 3rd pic).

I'm assuming that the deeper cut is for the camera and should therefore be on the right-hand side. If you guys have any other theories, though, I'd really appreciate it. Would there be any reason to have such a deep cut on the left-hand side of the speaker grill?

Btw, I've emailed clarivue with my photos, so I'll let you know if/when I hear back from them, which is likely Monday at the earliest.

i'm not sure what you mean. it looks correct to me (2nd pic). the cutout on the left there looks like it goes around the "htc" branding.

Yeah I would think that the deeper cut would be for the cam too...but I don't know. Then again, the cam doesn't look like it's that far from the speaker grill. I'm also puzzled about the deeper cut on the other side...what's there or why is it cut that deep? I'm kind of worried that it may be cut backwards. Keep us posted.

those are small, but i think that's about 4.5 in length. the Evo is 4.8 lengthwise so i don't think it covers the bottom buttons up. interesting.
thanks for measuring!

I don't think so. The htc branding is much lower and closer to the left edge of the device.

But it is kind of hard to reference the fit from a pic, don't you think? Let's just keep our fingers crossed. At least we have the same cut, lol.
