Name the Evo 3D

As the inventor of 3dEvo, I can safely say it's pronounced Three-Devo.

Inspired by Devo, whose early punk antics were labeled gimmicky at the time, but whose camp style survived the test of time, and because I was predicting that where the 3vo was concerned against the competition, it was only going to do one thing: Whip It.

Yeap. I really did that.

Not really... 3DVO sounds more like "three - devo", rather than "three-dee-evo" (3DEVO)... The "e" isn't as elongated when you leave it out of the full "evo" wording equasion.

I invented 3dEvo because I didn't like pronouncing my other invention, E3D, and grew weary of it.

3dEvo was one word: three-devo

To pronounce it 3d Evo, I'd have spelled it that way, as two words.

3dEvo is written in a style called camelText - note the 3 is his head, the E is the hump - just as it should be. CamelText enhances readability, but does not intend new pronunciations.

Anyway - correct answer is 3vo, until you need to whip it, then it's 3dEvo.

I registered my Evo 3d at the HTC You Club, this was what was listed as the mode name:
Model: SHOOTER-R2

Seems to confirm that Shooter was the working name. That name sounds like something Luke would yell while in an X-wing fighter.

That's pretty awesome.
I've hereby decided, [Luke Skywalker:] "This R2 unit has a bad motivator", is the new canned response for whenever someone has an Evo 3D bug that can't be solved.

I don't know why we really need to try making an official non-official name for it anyway, but I'm still going to call it evo3d when I'm talking to someone about it and e3d on the forums. I'm pretty sure everyone will know what I'm talking about.

I can't put my finger on it, but I absolutely hate 3vo...

Last June we had just as many posts discussing EVO vs. Evo, so this started in good fun during pre-release.

No hidden meaning on this post, just back-filling history for anyone who's interested or curious.
