Root NAND Backup taking too looooong

Well-Known Member
i have the mikfroyo 4.4 rom and recently flash netarchy-toastmod-4.3.1-bfs-havs-nosbc using Amon_RAv2.2.1. after a successfull flash i run the fix permission using rom manager and then boot to recovery to perform another NAND backup after all is done. it started at around 315pm and now its 505pm and it still running.

is it simply because of my 28%battery, i am plugged in as i was doing it anyways.

can i just kill it and reboot without causing any issues or this is normal?

please advise.

thanks

You'll be fine if you do a battery pull and start over.

It's only Coping your device, no changes are being made, so you will be alright.

1) Matlock is correct; you can pull the battery if you need to. It will result in a corrupt backup, but that's likely already the case at this point.
2) How much free space do you have on the card? Make sure you check after deleting the corrupt backup. It's likely taking up a lot of space now depending on where it stopped.
3) Your battery needs to be over 30% to make a backup. I don't think it matters that it's charging. Charge it up fully, and try again.
4) If it still give you problems, flash Clockwork, and try. See if it stops at a certain point (you'll get output about what it's currently backing up).
5) If it gets hung at something like cache, just wipe cache/dalvik and try agian.
6) A few people here and there end up with data corruption and have no choice but to wipe data before their able to create a nandroid backup. Try the other stuff before you do that.

First thanks for the replies The Bomb (Akazabam) and Matlock.

I read from XDA that i have to unplug the USB cable when doing backup or restore and yes that worked. I run it again and made sure i have enough juice (50%) and available space in sdcard is 3.5G and it run for just around 15 min with everything selected except the sd-ext.

regards :)
