Root "Nand Unlock" for busybox: fail thread turned to success post

I checked a matching thread on topic, and it was a short lived thread that wasn't getting anyone answers and applied to a different phone. I'll link those guys to here so maybe someone else will be helped. So I was having the problem where I wanted to install busybox to satisfy <fill in the blank root access app that says it needs busybox>, in this case, "Easy Reboot *Root*". I d/l'ed and installed the installer that the app sent me to in the Market, attempted to use it to install busybox, and it told me that one of the possible problems was that I might not be "nand unlocked". I'm thinking "wth? but I'm rooted!" Anyway, when installing, it gave me two choices on the directory to install it into: either /system/bin, or /system/xbin. Installation failed trying to install to ../xbin, but worked installing to ../bin.

I didnt wanna start a new thread since I know that clogs things up on forums so I decided to revive this thread in hopes I can find help.

Im in the same position in that my 3g slide is rooted but I cant seem to download BusyBox. **note: I thought I downloaded BusyBox with Titanium Backup, it shows on the screen-Root Access: OK(BusyBox 1.18.4-Titanium from app)**

Anyways, I been trying the BusyBox installer and I seem to meet the requirements except I dont really know if my phone is Nand Unlocked. I dont even know what that term means or how I would go about unlocking it. So far, searching hasnt helped either. if anyone's been in the same boat can shed some knowledge on me I'd appreciate it. Ultimately Im trying to load a custom ROM, but Im stuck on this step right now. Thanks. for now I'll put my phone away since the urge to throw it against the wall is becoming stronger n stronger.

what recovery do you have installed? and you should have to have busybox installed to install a custom rom, just a custom recovery.
