Root Nandroid Backup - what boxes get checked

I'm looking at Andy's guide for rooting. These directions are excellent but I am a little confused about exactly what should be checked when making a nandroid.
Andy's instructions seem to say everything except data and sd-ext should be selected. (If data is already selected and I select data again, then data is unselected.) I think Andy didn't really mean to select data a second time.

Also, I read in another guide that only the first three and wimax should be selected.

Do the same boxes get selected if the sd card is partitioned?

Maybe it would help in the instructions to have a list showing what should be selected before you make the backup.

25.
Now at the top of the screen you will see 'Return'. Press the power button once on 'Return'.
Nandroid backup
Now go to Backup/Restore and press the power button. On this screen you will see

[X] boot
[X] system
[X] data
[ ] cache
[ ] recovery
[ ] wimax
[ ] sd-ext
[ ] android-secure

Boot, system and data are selected already so using the volume down button and then using power button to select, select data, cache, recovery, wimax and android-secure. Each of these will then have an X next to it when selected.

Since I'm partitioned, I've always selected everything. I don't keep nandroids around for very long so I keep my first nandroid on the computer and then delete the other nandroids off my sdcard as I go. I've always felt that it was better to start fresh than to restore a nandroid from a month ago so this is the reason i select everything. Another good habit to get into is to download Wimax Keys Checker from the market, just to check if your wimax keys are intact;)

Andy, Thanks.
I am clear on what I should do. Either check everything, since I am partitioned or just check the first three plus sd-ext and wimax. I'll go with checking everything if it does not hurt and the only difference is the size of the file. I actually have been just backing up the entire sd card on my laptop so the nandroid is included in that. I don't keep old backups on my laptop anyway, so size does not matter.
I was a bit confused when I read your sticky rooting guide's step 25, specially the part where you say to check the data box when it was already checked. That seems to mean you uncheck data. you did not mention checking boot and system again. just a bit confusing.
Thanks for all your hard work on this forum.

Thanks for the heads up, I will look into the post and see if I can write it more clearly:D

This is what I do as well. I still have my stock backup but I delete older nandroids as long as I know I have a good one to replace it.
