Help Nandroid restore, now market broken?

I recently had cause to do a nandroid restore. But now I can't download anything from the Market; I can browse, but anytime I try to download or update an app, the download fails. Not sure if the two issues are related or it's a coincidence. Any help?
Thanks,
Brian

Two things to try:

settings-> applications->manage applications. Wait for it to refresh. Find the market and tap it.

First, try tapping "clear cache" and see if the market works. If that doesn't help, there should be a "uninstall updates" button - try that.

Which ROM are you running?

Yes, I did go there and clear the market cache, no luck. Removing the update to Market was also unsuccessful. I'm running xtrSense 4.6.5, and I wanted to update all my apps before I make a new nandroid backup and install xtrSense 5.01. :(

I'm running xtrSENSE 5.0.1 and having no market issues at all, for what that's worth. Since you have a Nandroid anyway, I'd go ahead and install 5.0.1 over (without a data wipe - just wipe Dalvik cache) and see if you can update apps from there instead.

Somebody else reported an issue with the market in xtrROM maybe a week ago that went away after a few days, for what that's worth as well.

Yeah, my next step was going to be load a different Rom completely, and forget about the updates. Either the March 2011 OTA ReferenceRom or xtrSense (I love that one). I just wasn't sure if there was a problem with the market or I missed something.
Thanks.

doogald for President ;)

Either the March 2011 OTA ReferenceRom or xtrSense (I love that one).

I love it, too. You get the advantage of cache2cache with xtrSENSE, plus overclocking, and a script to get rid of the 50% time without signal bug (which is benign, of course, and fixable with the reference ROM by installing a script, I guess.)

Uh, oh. Just loaded the xtrSense 5.01 Rom, and still have the same issue with Market. Now I'm REALLY in a pickle! Help?!

No luck. I've done all that, still no downloads from Market. :( Would a factory reset wipe fix things up?

I second that nomination! :)

I'm sure that the old-timers and regular "viewers" (the few of us that are left here in the Eris forums) realize what a long-standing an valuable asset doogald has been to everyone.

His constant presence and vigilance keeps the wheels moving for an awful lot of hopefully appreciative folks.

Thanks, doogald!

I can't think of anything else, I'm afraid. I suppose that you could try restarting in Recovery and wiping Dalvik cache first, though. I can't imagine that will help, but you never know...

But, if that doesn't do it, restart in Recovery, wipe menu->wipe data/factory reset, wipe Dalvik, and then restart. You shouldn't need to reflash the ROM (though it won't hurt if you do.)

I tried everything indicated above, including the external link. Nothing helped. I did a full wipe and reinstall of xtrSense 5.01. I got the Market back, darn it. I must have gone wrong when I failed to factory reset at some point. Now I just have to get my text messages back... which thing in TiBU do I have to restore?

Doogald, Scary Alien, erisuser1, and Zachxtr at xda are my favorite Android people in the world. Brilliant, helpful people, all. Much love and thanks to all for the help I've received both directly and in reading other threads.

Do a Nandroid backup first, but it should be the one in green called "[SMS/MMS/APN] Dialer Storage 2.1"

Well, I thought that's what it was, or [SMS/MMS PREFS] Messages 1.00, but neither one did it, and I KNOW there were messages there when I did the full TiBU on 5/1/11, which is the date indicated for the backups. I'm not going to sweat it; I don't THINK there was anything important there.
Thanks again.
