Neat ROM

Hi All.

My first post here. I've flashed the NeatRom Lite v3.3 tonight, so far so good.

Couple of questions though please.

The main reason I stumbled across this Rom is because I was looking for good battery life, having suffered a nightmare on both CM9/10, we're talking 8 hours from 100% - 0% at times. I've read the battery saving tips thread on here, I have tweaked some of the points from Hawker mainly the display ones as they are pretty simple to do, most were preset to those anyway. But some of the more complex for us relatively new to this I didnt really 'get'. Are there any simple things I can do immediately to save battery that you can post with step by step instructions? Downloading some apps was mentioned in order to do certain things to the phone for example...

Also..is there any way of merging contacts in bulk as I can only seem to do it 1 by 1 which will take me forever?

So far I've only installed 2 app, Facebook and myphone explorer. So we will see how the battery life is after 1 day tomorrow, I'm on 17% at the moment so will do an overnight charge then run betterbatterystats during work tomorrow and if I have problems I'll post the results here and hopefully someone can help.

I've nothing but a nightmare since rooting this phone with Roms and battery life, I ran CM10 latest one today, and my battery was dead in 8 hours, which included 1 phone call of 10 minutes and 1 check of facebook and nothing else :-( So I am praying this ROM will allow me to start enjoying my phone!!!
 
Sorry just a couple more questions if anyone can help...I'm using Go Launcher, how do I change the background of the screen when I unlock the phone?

Almost certainly not ROM related.
Try the following:

1. Reset the fuel gauge chip in ExTweaks
2. Switch off
3. take battery out for 3 minutes
4. during this time press the POWER key for 10 seconds
5. replace battery
6. press home+power for 10 seconds

Thanks...How do I reset the fuel gauge chip in ExTweaks? Never used it before...
 
Hi guys Iv gone from CheckRom V6 to Neat rom (themed UHLPG) , a few questions ,
1. why cant I put a different picture on the lock screen
2. Are there any extra mods like a better music player (beats etc)
3.Anyone know why its not as smooth as CheckRom V6?
4.My 3G doesnt seem as fast for some reason now ?

All in all I kinda wish id stayed with V6 but the fiddle bug got the better of me -_-

Followed your steps above and battery now showing as 37%

Thats to be expected so dont worry.
you just need to give it time to settle back down.
charge it back up to 100%, then take the battery out again for 3 minutes and power back up
 
I've actually had a 2000mah delivered whilst at work today. Do I need to do anything to this once in the phone, or just plug, charge and all should be ok?

Sorry if thats a silly question..

Anyone have/notice problems with push notifications from apps?
I noticed some weren't coming through so emailed app Dev. He pointed me towards push notification test app that I downloaded & ran. It stated my ROM doesn't support push notifications.

Is this correct? & if so any way to change it.

I'm using NEAT ROM LPI Full and Push Notification is showing fine for me. I'm guessing that, if you are on the Lite version, it has been disabled and you may need the Full LPI.

Yeah your right, I'm on Lite. Didn't think of that. I'll flash full LPI later & try. If I flash full LPI, do I still need to do all the wipes, flash stock, etc as if starting from scratch or can I just do ROM?

No, just ROM
Apps/CWM/Flash update/Find ROM/Done
 
Not really changing it too much, so I wouldn't bother with the wipes unless you encounter any major problems... which I doubt.

I always tend to install the Full NEAT ROM's and then use Titanium to freeze what I'm not using as some of the app's left out on Lite are useful to me.
