Neat ROM

can someone explain how to get vertimus theme to fully show on my phone. I install the jkay framework and then installed the vertimus theme for lpi and I only manage to get the icons changed. The status bar and menus in setting are still stock for some reason. I also have problems if I try to install it after having the framework on my phone since it will go into a boot loop. What is the proper way to do this.

I know this question is quite old hat but I'm wondering if you can flash Salesales mods over JKAY? (LPG) Contacts in Dialer etc

Hello!
Just to make sure: I never flashed LPI Neat Rom and as I hear your great comments, I would like to give it a try. After flashing (now running LPU), can I flash Jkay framework and installing deluxe settings? If so What framework should I exactly download?

Is it better to flash the themed LPI or not?

Thanks my friends!

Why are you asking this on the Siyah thread and not the Neat ROM thread :hmmmm2:

To answer your questions, JKay will work on LPI but not LPU.
As for is it "better" to flash a themed Neat or not, that's entirely down to your personal preference.

Shotty mate, it may be an idea to move these 2 posts over to the correct thread old boy.

i still can't figure out why the media scanner runs for about 30 mins every time i boot on themed LPI. this renders the camera useless, it opens with a "media scanner running" msg then closes. when scanner stops, camera opens but shows no options, just a full screen image of whatever the lens is looking at.

have tried a full wipe on neat lite LPI and LPS and still the same prob. have an ext 8gb kingston card which is only used for a few mp3's and nandroid backups.

currently using ressurection rom JB which is pretty slick, and no camera probs. battery life is ok, but found it much better on Neat, which is why i would love to get this media scanner prob fixed.

what am i missing here (apart from a brain)?

What happens if you run NEAT LPI and start your phone up without the SD card installed?

doh! never tried that. didn't figure it could mebbe be a card prob as it works dandy on all other roms. will give it a go.

update: still gettin media scanner running after 20 mins. no external SD. :-/

On 2nd coffee now!

How about if you go to...

Settings > Applications > All > Gallery > clear data > clear cache and do the same with the Music Player (whichever one you use).

A really daft thought, but if you have more than one media player if the above didn't work would it be an idea to uninstall all but the stock media player, and start again ?

No, just clear their respective data and caches as well. You could always freeze them afterwards, using Titanium Backup.

i think i gave this a go ages ago, but did a fresh install with full wipe and did the above again, still get the media scanner taking forever and camera out of bounds. back to AOKP.

have you performed a backup via CWM 6 my any chance?
Earlier siyah's created a blobs folder in clockworkmod/backup
this contained thousands of files.
if you have this folder then create a file called .nomedia in clockworkmod folder and reboot.

Maybe too soon to say it but after trying almost every neat Rom, I think LPI is stable and smooth.
Besides that, I can't figure out what are the improvements of each of the rest Roms (LPT, LPS, etc). I know they are released for different parts of the world but...? I live in Argentina and use LPI.
So when a new release comes out, out doesn't mean improvements.
It's there any changelog telling which one I should install for my country or this is just try and error?
Thanks for the advices.
Glore2002.

I'm still on LPI, and to be honest I can't see me coming off it for the foreseeable future.
This along with Neat LPG have been my best ROMs by far so far after 13 months on my GS2. (Little to choose between Neat LPG/LPI and I've stuck with LPI since its release)

I'll probably be giving all 4.0.4 ROMS a miss, and stay on Neat LPI until a Sammy JB ROM comes out with JKay support, as reading between the lines, I dont foresee a 4.0.4 JKay release, and as good as I think Sale's Net ROMs are, a 4.0.4 ROM minus JKay offers me no benefit whatsoever over 4.0.3 with JKay.

i had this prob dude even before cwm 6. cwm 6 doesn't help matters, but even after a fresh Neat rom install with cwm 5 the prob remains. im currently on siyah 4.1.2 and have flashed an older siyah prior to flashing Neat, 3.4 summat, but the prob is still there. am open to offers so will try you're suggestion :)

there's summat on my internal SD causing bother, just can't figure it out, have too much gunk in there to do a full flush. in fairness, Resurrection Rom, which i now use, is pretty sweet, and i can live with it, camera works instantly, smooth, fast, battery life is adequate. times like these i wish Checkrom kept up S2 development. that said, Neat is the new ICS equivilant of Checkrom v6, which i hope Sale would take as a compliment.

In which case, you need to try to rebuild your media cache.
delete the following folders and reboot:
/sdcard/android/data/com.android.providers.media
/sdcard/android/data/com.cooliris.media
/sdcard/android/data/com.google.android.gallery3d
/sdcard/android/data/com.android.providers.media
/sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails
/sdcard/DCIM/100andro
/sdcard/LOST.DIR
/sdcard/external_sd/DCIM/.thumbnails
/sdcard/external_sd/DCIM/100andro
/sdcard/external_sd/LOST.DIR

Before doing this it won't hurt to manually touch a .nomedia file in any folder that you know you will never want any pics/mp3's etc being detected by relevant apps. Remember the file is recursive, so creating the file in a particular folder will mean that folder and all of its sub folders will be omitted. Pay particular attention to your internal SD as this is where the problem seems to lie.

Give this a try and see if it makes any difference

Hawker:

To get the best of your battery, you have everything always turned on (wifi, data, GPS) and only turn on manually Bluetooth. Is this right?

You never use things like Juice Defender, Green Power, etc. because they end consuming more battery than what they really save.

What about wifi Policy -> Do you set it to #2 only when plugged in?

syncing? and Power Saving options? Custom power saving?

Thanks my friend!
