Neat ROM

Hi All,

I installed this ROM on Sunday and have been using it since then. I really like it however I have one issue. My battery is not lasting at all close to what it was on the stock ROM.

I have had to charge my phone after 15-20 hours everyday and I do not use it much during the day. It is mostly in my pocket during the day yet when I come home in the evenings, it is at 20-30% battery. By the next evening, it is the same again. Can you guys advise me on what to try/do? I would like to stay as close to stock as possible

Here is my battery info for the past 3 days:

I am using NEAT Rom Full by the way. Just want a stock, rooted ROM :)

Finally I moved to ICS :D all went well and easy like in good old days with GB! After flashing stock i moved to Neat lite 3.0.1 + Siyah 4.0.1 and I'm getting used to it... but after 3h i can already consider myself as "happy bunny"! ;) everything working really well and smooth, will see in a few days how's battery life...
Ps. ironass thx for your support! :)

That sounds like I lent you my cricket box!!!

Tip: I'd get off of that NEAT Lite 3.0.1 (UHLPS) and get on to a more up-to-date ROM, like LPI. See, here.

I couldn't agree more with the senescent Cotswoldian on that remark Twinny old boy.

And for further evidence on its origins, UHLPQ has just been released, and this is still Android 4.0.3, thus proving the theory.

LPI is certainly the most recent as far as 4.0.3 is concerned, and the best one I've tried to date.

Senescent!

In the immortal words of my father... "Son", (he always called me that as he could never remember my name), "you're only as old as the women you feel".

Unlike Hawker's missus, who complains that she feels old age creeping on! :creep:

Only because she is 7 years my junior! :)

Senescent!
In the immortal words of my father... "Son", (he always called me that as he could never remember my name), "you're only as old as the women you feel".

And in the immortal words of my grandfather who on his death bed said to me:
"Paul, you selfish boy"
And two weeks later I became a fishmonger.

But Neat LPI on xda thread is earlier version than LPS... am I wrong? Or did I missed sth?

Yes... on both counts! ;)

The UHLPS release is based on the old Polish LPS firmware release back in March/April. It just took them a lot longer to release it. :)

See Hawker's post, here.

hi, i'm currently on neatrom lite UHLPS with siyah 4.0.1 and i have flashed the blue circle battery meter. but suddenly my battery meter seems to freeze itself and not change occasionally causing me to think my phone has more juice than it does. i have tried wiping dalvik and battery stats to no avail. anyone knows any solution?

i got one more issue after switching to NEAT. when i go to recovery on bottom i always get:
E: Can`t open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can`t open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can`t open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can`t open /cache/recovery/last_log

any ideas how can i get rid of it ? and what could cause this issue? ofc i followed all necessary steps before moving to ICS so i wonder did i missed sth?? any help will be appreciated...

I had that issue before too on new roms sometimes. All I ever did was wipe cache and my dalvik cache and the next time I booted into recovery mode the message was gone.

Problem solved! Thx lads! :)

btw how can i get rid of status bar on lock screen? i ticked it off in jkay but it stays there...

I'm having an issue with my network becoming disconnected.

After a couple of days use, the network status says emergency calls only. Once rebooted, the network connects again & stays stable for another couple of days. I've had this issue for around a week now & has happened on different kernels (siyah 3.5.2 & 4.0.1) and different modems (BVLP7 & LPX).

Has anyone else had a problem like this or know what could be wrong?

The last time I had something like this happen to me, was earlier this year ooberandy. Drove me nuts. I changed modems, kernels and firmwares... only to find out that my carrier were carrying out upgrades to the masts/towers in my local area! Unfortunately, after the, "work", was carried out, my signal was not as good as before until I, and others, made our feelings known to the carrier.

So, first port of call is to call your carrier, don't rely on their repair web site being up-to-date, and explain your problem... no doubt they'll offer to send you a new sim card.

One thing you can try, is this...

1. Settings > Wireless and network > More > Mobile networks > Network operators.

2. Let the screen populate with all the available carriers.

3. Select a carrier that is not your own. You will be told, after trying to connect, not allowed or No way Jose.

4. Repeat this with one or two other non carriers.

5. Finally, select your own carrier, Automatic, and reconnect your phone again.

This procedure should ensure that your phone locks on to the strongest signal for your carrier.

Hi all, i have a friend who wants to install this rom but he is a complete noob and is on a stock device. Could someone tell me the easiest way to install root? I done it so long ago i've forgotten.
After installing root, is it as easy as just wiping the device and booting to cwm and install the rom?

I flashed a new radio, the one you suggested form an alternative thread think it was LP6. Worked good for a day, but now it says I am connected, H+ and everything but the internet isn't working anymore? I tried other radios too... same thing.

I just tried your procedure with the mobile network, but it just says "Searching..." and doesn't find any mobile network??? :(

Any ideas? Calls and such are working.

If you look in Settings > About phone > Baseband... it will show you which modem you have flashed.

Don't remember an LP6 modem though.

as I mention in this thread... "http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-.../588852-modem-installation-dummies-guide.html"...

There is no such thing as, "the best modem". It depends entirely on your location, operator and signal strength. The latest modem may not be the best for you, as I have found out. These are the one's that generally work... KE7, KH3, KI3, KI4, KL1, LPS, LPX, NEKF2, NELP2 & NELP3.

After checking your APN settings are correct... just try another radio with your NEAT ROM, that might suit your particular network better. :)

salesale,

I think we are all eagerly awaiting your next release....any ideas on when that might be?

Thanks for all the hard work

By "surprise" I assume you mean JB?
As there has been no official Sammy JB ROM release to date (and is unlikely until Sept/Oct), and Sale only does stock Sammy ROMS (and long may this continue) I would say its 4.0.4 (LPT) based, but I've known to be wrong in the past on countless occasions!
:)
