Well, ironass is officially a, "Happy Bunny". :dancing2:

Since moving from Gingerbread, (GB), to ICS I've struggled to achieve the sort of battery usage I was getting with, say, CheckROM v6. Namely a 2% per hour battery drop overnight and an overall, average usage, of around 24-27 hours.

Having installed the latest NEAT ROM, 2.3.2, over the weekend and enacting these Battery Saving Tips, I gave it 2 or 3 days to, "settle in", and I'm pleased to say that my battery life has improved.

Yesterday I was out and about for awhile and used about an hours worth of calls plus, around, 30+ texts as well as using Maps and approximately an hours worth of web browsing and 3 emails plus polling and receiving.

My overnight battery drop, in 6.5 hours, (average 1.54% per hour), was 10%. Whilst my overall usage for 24 hours is 84%, (average 3.5% per hour).

Now, before anyone posts that they're getting 6 months battery life, or whatever, let me stress that this is for what I consider to be a medium usage, for me, in comparison to the same sort of usage on GB.

That set up, for me, includes Wi-Fi on, with. "awake only when plugged in". Power saving de-activated. Accounts and sync for my Google account and Whatsapp, on. Location and services all checked. Back up and reset, unchecked.

Siyah kernel, 3.3.1, with default, "Battery", settings in ExTweaks and ExTweaks Plus.

So, a big thank you to salesale and the NEAT ROM and to gokhanmoral and Siyah.

I don't have any issues with wifi other than the fact that it "seems" to stay on constantly according to the battery chart screen. Everything else related to wifi works perfectly for me other than this. Its not a ROM or kernel issue as I've tried several. And i always do full wipes before flashing any rom.
I think the only thing left for me to try is to wait until the next official firmware release comes out. I'll full wipe and flash through Odin then flash sale's neat ROM over on top.

Ahh. I see. Perhaps I'll wait for the next release and do a full wipe myself :)

Benchmark for me was always the 1% per hour my HTC Desire sipped at idle on Redux. Have never got close with the S2 on either GB or ICS. However, the phone dropped 11% in 8 hours while I was bored ****less in some workshop today (first chance I've really had to measure it as I normally charge it overnight). Or it could be that my phone was just as bored as I was... :D

Sort of associated question: I'm trying to download and install the framework for JKay deluxe. Is NEAT an odexed or deodexed ROM? I thought it was deodexed but I'm starting to confuse myself.
 
if im coming from pure s3 rom. and i want to install this neat rom. do i still need a full wipe or just install this neat rom right away? ty
 
Sale is developing 2 different versions, a standard one, and a Lite version.
Keep an eye on his thread for it's release, possibly tomorrow night.

You can uninstalling those apps using Titanium Backup. Under the Backup/Restore tab you can click on any app and it'll give you option to uninstall.
What you want to delete?
 
Checkrom?

Even if it doesn't check if checkrom is installed, there isn't much point as all the mods/kernels/themes etc are for gingerbread
 
can some one help with this please i put it on my phone today and all was fine , i went to flash Siyah-v3.3.2 so i rebooted into cwm recovery mod , it came up and i can move it to high light the different settings i went to click install zip but everytime i click on it nothing happens , i thought ok fine i pulled the battery out and restarted the phone but now my problem is my phone wont load it goes into recovery mode all the time and i cant get off it all i cant select anything on it , any one got any ideas

Neat Rom Lite is up, there are two different versions available. One version is 147mb (Removed apps) and the other is 225mb - nearly 100mb smaller than the basic version! Not sure what apps exactly are removed, I think it's fair to say it'll be bloatware. Downloading the chubbier of the lite versions to see what's what...
