Root Need help badly!!!

yeah sim it fine i tried it in the galay tab and desire hd and it is fine. tried reseating the sim again and its back to the white htc splash screen flashing/vibrating over and over while it loads.
Just loaded up and says limited service no signal. :(

can you try the following and see if it makes any difference

fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
 
I would really like to see a full RUU from fastboot to latest version over usb to 2.29.405.5
 
Ok I tried what Infernal byte said and the phone is now connected to the orange phone network but as soon as i make a call i lose the signal and it says out of service. This is what happened when i done the update that rastaman said to do but after a reset of the phone or maybe 5 minutes i lose the signal altogether and just have the message limited service.

update: was just in the wireless and networks settings and under mobile network it says: disconnected because the radio was turned off.

How the hell has that happened!!!

Didn't know that was possible! I get this problem when I flash an incompatible ril. Your now on the .27 radio and unless you root there is no way of flashing its ril. Can you turn the radio on?

no after about 5 mins i lose connection completely. when i initially update i can make calls but i hardly get to talk and the call disconnects saying out of service. I dont know how to turn the radio on. i disconnected of my wi-fi and then tried the 3g but it did'nt connect.

Oh forgot to mention i have no idea what a RIL is lol
 
So i tried to root my desire and when i have to plug the phone into the computer for unrevoked it does nothing because the usb on the phone does not work. is there any other way to root
 
It is the weirdest thing ever. unbelievable i put the phone on standby and i got a text through from my boss. I tried to call him and the the signal went again. I Give up think am gonna call htc or orange tomorrow and see if the can sort it out. May cost me but at least it'll be working!! Thanks for everyones help.

you do this by downloading this cut down sdk tools

boot to fastboot (hold down back + power)

the connect it to the computer (install drivers)

open command prompt
cd c:\android-sdk-windows\tools - hit return

then type
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0

see if that gives you back usb connectivity
 
Well finally got my phone back from HTC today and it's working perfectly. Did take a couple of weeks though but they fixed it for free and gave me a class 4 16Gb micro sd card for free so well happy. Thanks to all who commented and tried to help it was really appreciated :D
