Need help, broken tethering

Hello everybody, I'm really new at this...I'm really having problems HTC ANDROID. I have no clue as to what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to tethering my phone to my computer and it just keeps saying unable to turn on. I used it the day before and it was just fine. It won't let me go to internet pass through or change anything. All I did yesterday was download some music..Today nothing...Can anyone help me here...desperate in Juneau, Alaska..

I have no idea what your problem is but if you give a few more details about your phone and carrier, maybe we have a phone specific forum where the members can give you some detailed info.

Hello aleutpride. As dustwun77 says, we need to know more about which device you have: HTC Wildfire? HTC Legend, etc??

Just to be an echo what device do you have?

Also are you trying to wifi tether or usb tether?

Are you rooted as well?
