Need help identifying...

I suspect a possible hidden app on my 12 year olds android phone, I monitor her phone daily and tonight she threw a fit when I grabbed her phone which is totally unusual behavior. anyway I check the phone and in the status screen there is a notification that seemed like a legitimate one but then I noticed the number next to it. It said "12 updates available for muve music". When I asked her what that was she quickly smacked the phone out of my hand and broke it. Now I have never encountered this situation even on my own phone and I am very concerned for her safety. Please help me to identify the possible source of this notification, google has done me no good. Thanks so much!

PS: I think her next phone will not be of the smartphone variety because of this situation but I need her to have a phone so I know when to pick her up at places, and so that she can call me or police in emergencies.

Muve Music is just a music streaming app. I think the problem is that she just doesn't want you monitoring what she's doing. Sounds about normal for a 12 year old girl.

As above but if you dont think your 12yr old is mature/savvy enough yet then by all means give her a dumb phone or put locks on her smartphone.
I dont sound like normal me here lol but a smartphone is a fullblown computer. Im a fan of Google+ but ive noticed very young people taking part in very adult conversations. id imagine fb is the same. Not to mention Ask.fm with those girls killing themselfs through bullying on the site.
you could lock down her phone with an app-lock type app, lock the playstore and even lock settings.
Im quite a chilled guy but with emotionally young under-16s, be careful mate

P.s. unless shes savvy enough to root(hack) her phone. A factory reset will remove all installed apps
