Help need help on installing apps with no wifi/internet.

Hello there, I am a new Evo 4g (the phone itself is in 2ndhand condition) owner,and I am also a new android user. (I have used an xperia x8 for a while, but it ran on an older android os). now this 4g is in android 2.2, and I am wondering if can I install any apps without any internet/wifi connection? is there a way thru transferring files from a computer?

If you can legitimately source the apk files, I believe there is an application installer function in some versions HTC Sync (HTC's desktop suite).
 
thanks for the welcome. I'll see the htc sync if it can install apps offline, but on their website evo 4g isn't listed in the choose your handset menu.

you can transfer files you download on your computer over to your sdcard. shouldnt need any special software to do this just set htc to be a disk drive. this will load your card as a drive. Copy the apps you downloaded onto the sdcard and use a file explorer like Astro or estrongs and click the apk and install

If you've no WiFi/3G internet on the phone, how would you install Astro or ES File Explorer to browse to the .apks after you'd transferred them? :p
