need help please

my samsung galaxy prevail will tell it has a system update so i press update now and it reboots to install but never installs! it stays on a screen with an android on it and a triangle with an exclamation in it. what do i do to install the update? someone told me to use odin. so hwere do i get that? any new suggestions?

are you rooted? if so you should never install system updates!! and the odin stuff is in the rooted section.

Is this a refurbished phone or one you bought from someone else...? My senses tell me if you don't know what odin is then you aren't rooted... Unless someone else did it for you.
