Help need help reseting my htc hero

joshnosh

Lurker
basicly i lost my phone ages and clamed on insurance
then i found it at collage a few weeks later
so the phone is imei blocked but still a great peice off kit.
i know i should probably give it back to the insurance company but my insuracne company is the scum off the earth so they can go screw themselves :)
so i loaded some songs on it and used it as and ipod for a while but then for some reson whitch i cant remeber now, i did a factory reset on it and when i turn it on it screws at my to put a sim card in to "place calls" but if i do it says blocked or something similar due to the IMEI block.
any way i can get round this? i dont mind trying to root or somthing like that if it will help

if the insurance company got you a new phone then why do you need to make calls with the old one

If the phone is blacklisted by the insurance/wireless carrier then it's pretty well a done deal! Short of doing something illegal, there aren't many options available to you to get around this. Sorry!

Really? They replaced your phone, didn't they?

As the IEMI is blacklisted across all networks to prevent fraud/misuse there's no way round it. It's just something you'll have to put up with, I'm afraid.
