Need Help - Want to buy Best Buy and Keep Unlimited Data

New to the forums!

I am a long time AT&T Blackberry user and have the Blackberry Personal Unlimited plan on my account grandfathered in to my Bold. I'm making the jump off of the sinking RIM ship and want to join the Samsung world with a new Note.

1) How can I keep my grandfathered unlimited data?
2) I want to take advantage of the Best Buy offer, but it requires you to choose a data plan. How can I resolve this and keep my unlimited?

Thanks!

The best way to find out the real information on this is to call AT&T and just hang up whenever you get someone that you know has no idea what they are talking about. I mean unless there is someone on here that works for AT&T, no one would truly know if there is a way or not. So, I would just suggest calling them DURING THE AFTERNOON, might I add since that's when you won't get too much traffic and you won't get some outsourced guy in India.

We have had no issues keeping or unlimited on our past 4 or 5 purchases at best buy. it usually simply requires the best buy employee calling in to at&t tho

When I bought my Atrix they took my unlimited off since it was a 4G device. Some glitch in the system did it. What they did is put me on a data plan for the time it took them to "research" and put my unlimited back. The only way I found out I didnt not have the unlimited plan was the fact that I got an error after about 2 days of using my phone that said "no data connection available" or something to that sort. I went ahead and selected the 4gig option on the BB pre-order just so I have something because I'm sure I'll be calling or chatting in with AT&T to make sure I keep my unlimited. I don't know if it's because I work for the company or am a premier customer, but I did see an LTE unlimited data option since I have had unlimited for quite some time. I am assuming it is only there for people who have had unlimited in the past and have fought to keep it.

So a simple call by you, or the best buy employee, or a trip to an AT&T store should get it back if you lose it if you are ordering online. They should be able to call in before you activate it as well to make sure the unlimited data plan stays in tact if you order in stores.

Getting unlimited back post purchase is near impossible now.

You want to make sure it is done right to begin with

Not to mention keeping unlimited nowadays. AT&T is slowly driving people into its tiered plans. They are throttling people so much to the point that you would be getting speeds less than EDGE on your device.

Indeed...previously i was warned at 7gb and throttle at 8...the 4 bit never throttle....last month warned at 4 throttle at 5...

This month, i just got warned 6 days into my billing cycle and I am only at 1.5 gb. my phone has actually been working and on the network for a few days

Good info!

If I order on AT&T's website, I get confirmation that I keep the unlimited, but it's 50 dollars more.

I think the 50 dollars is worth the peace of mind along with 1-2 days early I'll get the phone!!
