Root Need help with giving wifi to my 3DS

Ok so ive got velocity so i can tether to my laptop for free, done it numerous amounts of hours since i got it. I recently...(ignore it and dont diss this unless youve played) got the new pokemon white version, and had a ds lite. Blah blah couldnt connect to my phone to trade or battle. So now i got the 3ds and am having the same issue, any help would get you a gold star =)

Maybe the tether is giving an adhoc connection and 3ds no supports it? Idk

Ok but just to make sure, i just open up wireless tether? Or are there more options that need to be turned on besides wifi?

What error code are you getting? Did you transfer your wi-fi profile from the Lite to the 3DS? Does "test connection" run successfully from wi-fi settings?

Just got a 3DS myself; may have to try this out. You're not alone ... picked up Black to play with my nephew.

I wanna play pokemon white/black but i dont own a ds or 3ds and dont see it as an investment so im not gonna shell out the cash for it and the game. seeing as how that game will probably be the only one id play
