Need help with my ERIS PLEASEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try to find andrizoidsSPACE. He has a touchscreen fix
It was a zip file so it might be an issue if the phone doesn't have a custom recovery.
but! Grab the file, rename to update.zip and GTI load it like an update

5. Just to be clear, a press-and-hold of volume-DOWN and end/power simultaneously still results in a boot-loop? It doesn't stop and prompt for anything?
tried recovery mode still loops or w/e

The bootloader is different than recovery. If you can get into the bootloader, it will check for updates on the sd card and we can flash an update (2.1 rooted image) or something else (2.1 leak, maybe?) which could potentially clear up any software issues.

Edit:
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

Put this file on your sd card. Make sure the sd card is formatted to fat32, do not extract the file, do not rename it, and do not put it in any folders. After you do that, turn the phone off, and hold Volume Down and Power to turn it on. The boot loader screen should pop up with four options like fastboot, recovery, clear storage, and sim lock for a second and then should say
SD CHECKING
Loading <filename>.ZIP....
NO IMAGE!
SD CHECKING
Loading <filename2>.ZIP....
NO IMAGE!
...
Loading PB00IMG.ZIP...

(Edit 2: It will look something like this)
1_pb_unpack00.jpg

It will flash to a new screen where it will start verifying the file and then ask you if you wish to update. Say yes. It'll do some magic, and reboot into the bootloader again. It'll do pretty much the same steps again, but install some different stuff this time around. Hopefully, it'll boot after that.

This will install a new bootloader (1.49 S-OFF) and a rooted version of 2.1.

If you are already rooted, will doing this still change your bootload from 1.49 on to 1.49 off? is this the file that jcase was working on? sorry to briefly hijack this thread.

You have to be patient when updating/loading ROMs. It can take quite a while sometimes (10 mins or more in some cases) and it will look like the phone has just stopped responding.

i did that and loading super fast down the screen then just didnt do anything
It does go super fast down the screen, that's a good thing. Did you have the PB00IMG.zip on the root of your sd card? Heck, pop it out and load it from your computer if you need to. If you can get to that screen you can fix it.

Greekster,

The folks that have replied since I last did earlier this morning are trying to take you down a road I had in mind (i.e., trying to get a different ROM loaded). But you need to elaborate a lot more about what you are doing and what you are seeing if you really want us to help and help you get this fixed.

There's a lot of very helpful and knowledgable folks out there that want to help, but it'll take a lot more information from your side in order to help diagnose and possibly fix things.

Cheers!

Here's the file that JrzDroid was speaking of: http://www.andrizoidspace.com/Fixes/tsupdate3.zip

I'm not totally confident that this would really fix things since I would guess that this patch was needed to fix a conflict resulting from a build in Andrizoid's custom ROM, but hey...at this point, how could it really hurt?

ok guys so i download that pb00 img thing , put it on sd card, held up and the power button so it comes wot the boot screen, it loads quick then leaves then just sits at that screen..

alien After i dload that file should i jus put it on my card? then boot screen ?

As funkyfender indicated in post #31, after you put the PB00IMG.zip file on the top-level of your /sdcard folder, turn the phone off, then turn if back on by pressing volume-DOWN and end/power. If it sees a valid PB00IMG.zip file, it will start looking like the image that funkyfender showed.

If it verifies that the PB00IMG.zip file is valid, it will ask you if you want to update. Carefully read through his post again. Hopefully, this will get you going.

I've got to step away for a couple of hours...good luck.

I really don't know what anyone else can tell you. You have been given instructions in detail, there are tons of resources and information on these pages. Spend a couple of days reading and figure out what to do on your own. The phone is not bricked, you just need to figure out what to do.

i know im just clueless of some of the terms ppl are telling me, jus need someone to be by my side till i can get it back to work

Hey guys so i tried dloading the zip file and putting it on my formatted sd card then put it in the boot mode, but after it says it loads those IMG things it doesnt do anything, any advice from here please?

Yeah, reboot. If it doesn't work then get your money back or throw it out.

Or better yet, send it to one of us.

ok i got the boot to work! lol BUT touch screen isnt working at all. says touch panel-fail still :( any ideas anyone?

Greekster,

Unfortunately, its looking more and more like a true hardware issue. Especially since you've got it to boot and the screen won't respond, that really does point to a touch panel failure :( (at least in my mind).

Stopping the boot loop and getting to a place where you actually get to test the touch input sort of confirms this. Can you still contact the seller and tell them they sold you a pig-in-a-poke?

I'm out of ideas myself...anyone else?

I agree that it's more than likely a hardware problem. At this point, you could just cut your losses and look for a different phone, or try and replace the digitizer (which I'm not even sure would fix it). That part also seems to cost about $70 or so.

+1 funkyfender...great idea.

Here are some threads that discuss this (first one has a how-to video):
