Root Need help with rooting

Hello friends.How do I root my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman?Do I lose my warranty if I do so?What are Roms?How do you put them on a phone?Do I get the official update to ICS if I root my phone when I am on Android Gingerbread-2.3.4?
