Help **need help with rsd and flash**

yeah i've read that. i've done this before to my first x. had no problems. this is ridiculous. still isn't working... "error processing flash file"... i'm getting seriously aggravated.

How long before you get this error?

My RSD Lite says 4.9 and this is what I show for file properties:

Filename: VRZ_MB810_2.3.32_1FF_01.sbf
Creation Date: 12/03/2010 23:09:26
File size: 456081917
RAM DL Version: N / A
Bootloader Version: N / A
Platform: 4G OMAP
HAB Type: Signed Production

When I click on the first line in the bottom section, this is what I show for device properties:

IMEI/ESN/MEID: N / A
Technology: N / A
Software Version: N / A
Flex Version: N / A
Bootloader Version: v0x003004

I also saw mention of uninstalling the Moto drivers and flashing with the default drivers that install.

the error is immediate. less than a second... i was trying originally with the drivers that installed when i plugged the phone in... i'll try again...

never got the sbf started because of the battery being too low. (my stupid fault, i thought it would charge while doing it...) i'm in bootloader now, it says 30.04 battery ok ok to program transer mode: usb... in rsd the phone says connected but in the properties box its empty even if i press show device. keep getting this same error. someone said something about renaming it and after the next error, go to the error log and find out the number of digits missing in the name, but there is no error log in the rsd file... man i'm soo lost.

My file properties show up as soon as I load my sbf file (VRZ_MB810_2.3.32_1FF_01.sbf). That's the file I extracted from my zip file (Happy_Holidays_From_TBHb.zip).

Are you running Vista or Windows 7? If so, try running RSD Lite by right-clicking on the icon and running as administrator.

i was only talking about the device box, but they do show up... i'm running windows 7 and i've done the administrator trick...

still confused about not having and rsd error log file...

no luck... still the same. what option should be checked in rsd under config, flash/flex options?

Under logging, make sure it says "full logging". I've never need the log tho.

Under flash, only "restart" is checked.

Under Device ID, I have nothing checked. (?)

Under UID, both values are 0.

"Delete image files after exit" is checked, but I unchecked that. Don't want my sbf file deleted.

My 320 is Happy_Holidays_From_TBHb.zip and is about 253 megs.

ok, yeah the happy holidays file is what i have too...

You extracted the sbf file before opening in RSD Lite, right?

Then you browsed and opened the VRZ_MB810_2.3.32_1FF_01.sbf file?

The only reason I can see for not having file properties is if you tried to open the Happy Holidays zip file or if you have some system app that makes the zip file appear to be a folder and you're browsing inside the zip file to load it, which might cause problems in theory.

ok hold on!!! i did the admin like you said this time and its starting. i'll get back with ya in minute!

Good deal.

After installing, I changed my RSD Lite shortcut (right-click... properties)... and under compatibility, I checked "run as administrator" so it always does that.

thats what i did. now its stuck in boot loop. following instructions doing factory wipe in recovery. let ya know again in another minute!

When it boots, you could just let the phone charge, root with z4root, install CW recovery, then reload your nandroid.

seems to be stuck again... not sure what do now.. when i went into recovery it said:
E:can't open /cache/recovery/command

keeps saying signature verification failed when i do this... do i need to do it through rsd? right over top of the .320 i just flashed?

The 340 sbf also needs to be extracted from the zip and flashed the same way from RSD Lite.

My zip file is SHADO_X6_2.3.34_SYSTEM-ONLY.zip and the extracted sbf is SHADO_X6_2.3.34_SYSTEM-ONLY.sbf

thats what i had! IT WORKED!!!! I'M ALIVE!!!! DUDE thank you sooo much. do you think i should even worry about doing that backup? i'm scared this may happen again or do you think that it only happened because of the battery being so low?

So what worked?

Flash with full 320, system reset, flash with 340?

I'd get rooted, install recovery then back this up to a nandroid so you have something to fall back on.

yeah that is exactly what worked.. does z4root work as well as doing it in adb. i can do it that way too... but if a one click method works now i'll do that...

Download z4root to your sdcard (since it's not available on market anymore).

If you have trouble rooting, you can pop your battery in/out while it's working. AFAIK, it's the only app that works.

I think the system reset cleared your private data (which was preventing you from booting) so sbfing with 320 or 340 should have worked.
