Root Need Music.apk file

Asm92784

I recently installed CTMod rom and I would like to get the original default music player back on it. The CTMod thread has a link to a file with the removed apps, and it says it has the music.apk file in it, but when I downloaded it, the music.apk file was missing, so if anyone can provide the file for me, I would be very grateful.

Music.apk

If that doesn't work for you let me know.

I tried installing it through CWM using the instructions for installing removed apps in the CTMod thread and it looked like everything installed okay, but the app isnt showing up on my phone. I also tried using file explorer and installing the apk file directly that way, but it fails every time I try it that way.

The latest version of music can be downloaded from the market, its called Google Play Music. That's why its not in the zip.

The reason the above apk doesn't work is cause the signature doesn't match up with the rom.

that shouldn't matter. I've compiled music.apk from google's source and used it unsigned, and with my personal signature before.

Music.apk
here, I just compiled this

Is this deodexed? Lolz
IM gonna try it out. XD hope its good!~

It's just the 2.3.7 stock music.apk. I made no edits.
It kinda sucks IMNSHO. I pulled the source into an eclipse project because I thought about adding in MIUI's minimum file size feature because I find it annoying to open the stock player and find all my ringtones and system sounds jumbled into the library.
I also wanted to trace through the code and find out what the difference is between what causes the player to launch as a 'preview' and what can cause it to start the full app because I'm fiddling with making my own app for pulling RoosterTeeth's DrunkTank podcasts, becuase I don't like the way that the app on the playstore only streams and doesn't skip/search very well

WWW.. alright. I did try to install but it failed. Lolz
Just wanted to get a nicer music player that's at the very core of minimalism.
I don't use the music apparently much but when i do i just play the song or change it. Or search thruough the library. So all the other features are useless to me.

That one worked, Thanks alot. My main problem with the miui player or whatever it is that comes with CTMod is it keeps downloading the completely wrong album art for my music, and after I hit the shuffle all button, I havent been able to figure out how to turn shuffle off now. And I waited like a year to install a custom rom so I am just more familar and used to the default music player.

kouma to the rescue. I wasn't sure that was just the first music.apk I grabbed of course it had to be while I was in a hurry or I would have checked back by now. But glad it is fixed anyway.
