Root Need Overclock Help

Was my mistake. Typed my recovery name instead of yours. downloaded yours will try w/ that. Sorry!

EDIT: MY mistake XD not "also mine"

OK not to worry. There was A typo in the 5th line of code that I spotted that just got fixed. That was the reason for the error....Also make sure you type in whatever you renamed the recovery to exactly. Whether it be vrecovery.img or xionia_recovery.img ,just as long is it is the same as on the sd card EDIT:wow I really am slow,I feel like an echo

I clicked on backup and restore now my screen is blank. Did I do something wrong? I entered the commands correctly. got into recovery and hit backup/restore the screen is still on just blank

did you use the home key or the menu key? once your in recovery you have to use the menu key to make selections or the screen will go blank. pull the battery, then reinstall, then home+volume down then power button held all at the same time until you see the LG logo then you can let go.

Ok I rebooted the way you said and got back to the xionia recovery. Hit backup/restore again with the menu key and it went blank again. Should I wait and see what happens?

EDIT: When I hit menu again it brought me back to recovery

EDIT 2: Apparently for some reason my home key is the input. Backing up now!

If you get a recovery screen with 8 options then the recovery is installed correctly. Did you use 12518.4 or 12518.6 I have my phone in recovery. when I hit the home button the screen goes blank. and when I hit the home button again it pops up back into the recovery screen. but when I hit the button on the far left(menu key) my selection is made.

I used 12518.4 all seems to be going well now :D still backing up

EDIT: Backup complete! What next?

Edit 2: nvm looked back up at mkbkr1's post I'll follow that to install picastix.

could be a change that was made in the newer recovery if thats what you are using

Sorry for the delay nature called. Yes select wipe cache partition, then go to advanced and inside select wipe Dalvik cache, when your done go back to main menu

Back in main menu go to install zip from sd card/ then choose zip from sd card. Scroll and find picasticks zip and select it ,when it is done select reboot system now, wait till every thing reboots then find the market app and click on it . if you see the market your good if not you will be prompted to sign in to your google account. at this point you might want to get you WiFi going first to speed thing up.

It worked! Thank you both sooooooooooooo much for your help! I couldn't have done it without yall. I can't thank you enough! :D

now go and get no-frills cpu control and see what you phone will do take it up one level at a time starting with 729Hz-480Hz to whateverHz-480HZ till it wants to reboot. make sure you don't check the box apply on boot until you get it set to where you want it. Then choose performance or interactive, then you can select apply on boot :also you might want to download a battery temp app that gives you a temp reading widget or taskbar indicator.

The recovery I posted is .4 for the V, home key selects. If you are using .6 that is for the optimis s, the home and menu keys are swapped. Other than that they both work the same

I'm in my recovery and it says its v1.2518.4 at the top. And my selection key is the menu key???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Well I guess if they get a good recovery screen, and when they go to make a selection you could mention that if the screen goes blank to use the other key.

If you ever fell like installing a Gingerbread ROM to your phone, then keep your eyes on the [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Geen Machine Theme. I've got it up to 787Hz-480Hz. I have tremendous battery life(I also installed Juice Defender set it for aggressive) and Angry Birds is fast, clean, and snappy. Its still under development, but there making constant improvements to it, some days multiple times a day.
