Root Need rooting guidance

Hey Guys, I've been out of the rooting business for quite a while (used to play around with my og evo a lot) and need some help. When I first got my LTE I rooted it because I missed using some root only apps but I haven't touched it since. It is still s-on and hboot 1.12 (very outdated, I know).

Well I'd like to update it and try out a few ROMs now, so could someone point me to instructions to get s-off at this point and how to add custom recovery?
Do I simply go through the DirtyRacun thing even though I'm already rooted? I believe I used Regaw's method for rooting those months back.

Hey there! I got S-off with a previous method, so I am not up on the current way, but some of the other guys are.

Ok thanks. I've been researching that method but also want to ensure that I should use it given that I'm already rooted.

Looking back on some of the recent members we have had who were s-on, i am pretty sure that is how they were told to go about getting s-off.


I understand your reluctance to jump into something without better understanding.

One of the others will be along to verify. In the meantime, you might be getting that livecd in the works. I am fairly certain that is the route you will be going.

there is basically two methods to get s-off now

1.dirty racun which the guide has already been linked
2.http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte-all-things-root/692301-s-off-facepalm-s-off-htc-evo-4g-lte.html which some have had success while others have not using this method.

The method for the 1.12 Hboot was LazyPanda, but Team IO doesn't support it anymore.

Follow the instructions in the guide Ocn posted above and the Team IO website, and you'll be good to go.
