Hi i am new here so sorry if this has been posted before i hope you replay !
I have a galaxy s2 i9100 it's brand new and want to root but i can't know which root to use
this is all the info i could get about it
( Model number :Gt-19100

Android number
4.0.4

Baseband version*
19100xxlq6

Kernal version*
3.0.15-19100jplph-cl978768
Dpi@dell151#3
Smp preempt tue jul 31 11:57:52 kst
2012*

Build number* :Imm76D.jplph)

And that's what i found when i dialed *#1234#

To root your phone, just follow this easy, step by step, guide:-

The root kernel you require is CF-Root kernel LPH.

Rooting has nothing to do with firmware, as explained in post #1, here.

Man it's not booting it says the galaxy s2 and the yellow trinagle then turns off whattttttttt should io do ????/ helpppppppppppp

Since you offer no information in either of those last 2 posts, I will have to try and guess at what you have, or have not, done.

Have you tried to carefully flash the root kernel again in case you made a mistake with the instructions.

Have you followed the advice in post #2, Step 4...

If you have and you still cannot boot up for whatever reason, you can flash the stock firmware, which contains the unrooted kernel, to get you back up and running again.

You will need to download and install your OJPLPH firmware and flash it using Odin, following the instructions under the heading, "My firmware is not eligible for ICS yet but I want it now!", in post #1, here.

This will return your phone back to its original state.

If you have and you still cannot boot up for whatever reason, you can flash the stock firmware, which contains the unrooted kernel, to get you back up and running again.

The CF-Root kernel LPH seems to have a problem mounting secure storage according to chainfire's xda site.

Therefore you could try, "Method 1", in this thread over on xda developers as it does not require a secure kernel for rooting.

Please read the installation instructions on there, carefully and thoroughly before proceeding. I have never used this method personally, so cannot advise you any further.

At least you now know how to get out of trouble by flashing the stock, Samsung, firmware.
