Root need some help please, esteem powers off

Newbie
my esteem today started powering off by itself. Powers up fine but then after a minute or two it just shuts off. I havent installed anything new or changed any settings. I am on software version zvd, rooted with rom #2. Any help would be greatm thanks
 
Hello hey how you doing . First like to welcome you to the forum . I see you having a problem with your esteem keep shutting off may i take the time to ask how long have u been rooted and have you done a factory reset within the clockwork mod
 
Thanks, been rooted for almost a year now, haven't done any resets. i put in my extended battery after posting this and so far it hasnt powered off. Looks like it may be a bad battery, When i get home I will but the original battery back in make sure it's charged and see what happens. Will report back, don't know why i didn't think to change batteries first

Maybe this is a sign telling me to upgrade, been thinking either the Spirit or the S3
 
Sounds like you may need to clean your stats if u put in a extended battery and u need to charge charge for the whole day to full complete 100percent
 
Seems like a bad battery indeed, put the original battery back in, charged to 100%, unplugged and after 30 seconds it shut off. Seems pretty crappy for a battery to only last a year.
 
this is the same issue i am having as well, i had charged my phone and took it off charger and not even 10 seconds later the phone shuts off, turn it back on and it would shut down when metropcs is displayed on the screen so like just before the start up finishes. i am suspecting the battery to faulty. your post helped me thanks

I was using both stock and extended batteries and had similar problems. While those who know WAY more than i do argue about the value of battery calibration. I am convinced that it had improved my esteem experience.

Was your extended battery a name brand product . I had one from china it lasted 1year and 7months . It still worked just had a huge bubble in it . Was scared that it will blow up. But the device had to adjust with the oem battery for about 2days . I had to charge full wipe and do it again . When i went back to oem battery.

yea i bought bout 7 of them,they do good for a year or so,but then i noticed my fone was shutting off,and what was happening was the batt was bulging and pushing the bk cover off and it would shut off or restart,soon as i changed batt,all was good!!! ill post a pic if i can find it,its crazy looking lol :smokingsomb:
