Root Need Some Help With Blur 342

So I'm not completely sure if I want to try out 342 yet but I'm getting everything together for that day that I want to. I've downloaded everything except the deodex zip. The link on droid x forums is broken. I've also heard that this update when flashed is already deodexed. So what's the dealio with this? Can anyone provide me with a link or the zip or flat out confirm it's already deodexed?

It's not already doedexed, and here you go:

Deodexer
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

Gaaaahhhhh!!!! It doesn't work. It aborts every time. I've downloaded it twice and it still won't work.

However I just read that the deodexer doesn't like the edited build.prop to get Swype working on DXF. Anyone else having this issue? I know I'm asking a lot on the forum this wasn't originally posted but Android Forums is mah place haha :P

Here's what I did when I was using it.

1. Flashed 3.4.2 zip to update to 3.4.2 build.
2. Factory reset phone (used built-in Moto Recovery).
3. Rooted phone with SuperOneClick.
4. Installed D2 bootstrapper.
5. Flashed the Deodexer.
6. Applied modded build.prop.
7. Applied the BWC theme I ported for it.
8. That's it, done.

I will upload the deodexer I used, just give me a few :D

Edit: Is that 342 deodexed or the deodexer? The filename confuses me!! haha :P

I think it might be that the build.prop is messing with it. I moved the prop before trying to deodex. Ill try using the regular file to deodex then moving the edited one over.

Something I just realized... When I had my Eris, I did not know anything about rooting or what a ROM was. Now Im using Root Explorer to replace files that if I screw up, can totally screw myself over. Just a realization of how far Ive come in the past year of owning only two android phones.

The file I posted will be applied as a zip from the sd card in bootstrapper (using the D2 bootstrapper) because the the DX bootstrapper doesn't work with 3.4.2 :D

So I just did a fresh install and rooted but d2 bootstrap just hangs and says success without asking to allow su permission... im stuck.

Edit: nevermind. Got it. Not deodexed yet though

Thank you for all the help. Got my the favorite themes (ironically all of them made for 342) and everything works including swype :D

Z4Root roots the 3.4.2 leak???? When did this happen?! All I knew was SuperOneClick!

Oh, man, that is so depressing haha. I was like awesome! I can try the leak!

You really should regardless. This seems to be the most stable "ROM" I've tried. I'm rooted, deodexed, over clocked, themed, frozen bloat, and running smoothly. Its worth it to try. I'm sticking with it until the boot loader gets unlocked.

I agree have been on it for over a week and have had NO issues at all. I am rooted, deodexed, overclocked/undervolted, bloat removed and themed. Everything is running great. I just can't wait to see a ROM come out for this.

I wont lie, at first I was sceptical on either to run this build or not. To be honest as long as you do both factory resets (before and after install), along with the cache wipe, this build is really bug free. I have yet to encouter a FC or any mayor issue. Battery life wise is quite better than the previously on .340 with custom ROM.

Agreed 100%. I forgot to do the second factory reset and every time it booted up, it would reboot 30 seconds after. I did a battery pull and reset, voala. Perfect.

I have to agree. I have been using this for about a month with zero issues, zero re-boots and zero complaints. I would love to see a couple of ROMs come out for this build.

Devs probably won't because they are waiting for Gingerbread while they improve what they've already done for 2.3.340, which makes sense to me.

Just my opinion anyway.
