Root Need some help with recovery

So long time since I've been active but I've been quite busy.

I had lost my phone and I payed the $100 to get another one, I rooted revolutionary and all is good; s-off. I happen to not have internet on my home computer atm and when it asked me if I wanted to install clockwork mod I had to say no, now I want to install it manually, I got clockwork mod from marketplace but when i try to install the recovery it always gives me an error saying that i don't have permission to do so....

I can get into the bootloader and it says revolutionary but when i goto recovery it shows the.green phone thingy with the circle around it but the it turns red with a red x I was expectting that to happen...

Any advice?

You'll obviously need to install a custom recovery. You can find them here. Just choose the appropriate one (I suggest Amon RA), rename file, place in root directory of your sd card, boot to hboot, and install.

Did you install SU? you have to flash the su to get root privileges. "Rooting" your phone really only means you turn off Securities (S-off) It should probably be called Unsecuring instead of Rooting but Rooting sounds cooler

Oh wow I cant believe I totally forgot about the pc36img.zip; bootloader update xD .

I feel so dumb, and yea I think amon ra is the best in my opinion.
