Root need to backup and unroot for return

I need to get a replacement for my phone and would like to have everything backed up. If i use the unrevoked tool to make a complete backup, then I just downgrade to lose the root correct?

After I receive my replacement and reroot, then I just reflash correct?

yes you lose root and yes you can restore your nandroid backup after you reroot and redo the reflash tool. there is a tutorial on xda about downgrading with thr rru.
