Root Need to start over I think

velocity

Newbie
I have flashed a lot of roms over the last couple of years on my evo. Awhile back I lost my GPS functionality and have not been able to regain it by flashing another rom. I think it may have something to do with partitioning the flash card and using dark tremors a2sd for one of the old MikG roms. The problem is I don't know if that is causing problems with the roms I am running now. What do I need to do to wipe everything and start fresh?

partitioning should not have anything to do with your gps. what rom are you on?

if you want to start new, just wipe dalvik cache, cache, data, and system and flash or re-flash your rom.

make sure to make a nandroid backup first.

Like OCN said, Factory reset/complete wipe and reflash the ROM. Usually, that should work. If it does not work, and the GPS fix he posted does not work, then more troubleshooting will be needed.
I just fixed an issue on my phone by doing a complete wipe/factory reset and reflashing the ROM and starting over. It's a pain, but if the issue gets fixed, you're better off in the long run

After completely wiping everything and re-flashing I still cannot get GPS to lock. I tried the gps fix app and it didn't help either.

it possibly could be a hardware issue.....maybe flash to a sense rom(if you are not already) and try calling sprint and see what they say.
