Root Netarchy 4.3.2

Looks like this has been released over at xda:

Notes for Revision 4.3.2
- Wimax code updated, 4g should behave a bit better
- SD card read ahead fixed, higher class SD cards should have an easier time reaching their potential speeds

Yep, saw that. 4.3.1 also got bumped up to stable. Looks like he decided to just include the sdcard readahead by default, so no more need to flash that separately. Thanks for the heads up :).

So will flashing 4.3.2 cause any problems if you already have the sd card fix? My guess is it will just get overwritten.

Yeah, that's basically where he puts all of his kernels. I think he just chose not to include them in the OP due to the recent "controversy". For those who really want them...well...there they are :).

Fyi...did have to dmflash the sdreadahead zip after flashing this kernel. Both read and write speads dropped.

No issues with sleeping at all. Does it just never sleep? Have you checked display timeout settings and debugging settings? Both locations have settings that could keep the phone from sleeping

---I am however noticing via logcat that the 4g issue (still trying to connect after shutting off 4g ) is still present. and I am getting home screen freezes, but I believe I have read in the past that this could be the smartass setting on setcpu

I don't think there are any real fixes for the 4g issues unless you just don't turn 4g on. As for homescreen freezes, did that just start? I've been using smartass for ages across several kernels, and never had that problem.

same here, and yes, just started after flashing the kernel, always right after screen unlock or when turning off 4g. I am going to look at my screen off profile I may have it set too low for this kernel

as for 4g..he only mentioned better 4g behavior. I am unclear what he meant by that.

Yeah, that could very well be. What I have had happen before (and maybe this is what you're referring to) is the screen not waking up when I press the power button. For example, the phone will go to sleep, then I'll press the power button. The capacitive buttons will light up, but the screen will not turn on. This has only happened with ziggy's kernels, though, and is the reason I just don't use them (they're great otherwise). I've never had it happen with netarchy, though.

As for 4g, yeah, I forgot about that part :). I have not idea what he did either. Apparently it didn't involve finding a fix for that bug :p.

well..my screen snaps on with no issues. unlocks with no issues. my home screens are completely unresponsive..icons, sliding screens...nothing works for up to a minute ...then it just starts working

Interesting. Are you using setcpu? Have you looked through logcat for anything interseting? Does it do this every time?

Hi Mr. Ed,

So you flashed the 4.3.2 sbc mor havs and still had the flash the sdreadahead zip anyway?

I just downloaded the netarchy 4.3.2 and I want to make sure I do the sdreadahead if needed.

on a few posts down you mentioned some screen settings and another settings for screen not sleeping... uh where can I find them?

Thank you very much

Charles

In my case the read.and wrote speeds dropped slightly ...which he warns might happen. I flashed the zip and they were back to super fast instead of just kind of fast.

Settings

Menu.settings.display.timeout

Menu.settings.manage applicatios.debugging.power I think...basically the setting is called.stay awake while plugged in
