Help Netflix on EVO 3d

Well that blows serious chunks... The whole purpose of me trying to download this app was to have a source where I could start downloading 3D movies. I was even planning on subscribing to Netflix for that sole purpose.

What I'm looking for is a place where I can start downloading as many 3D movies to my 3DVO as possible. Does such a thing or place even exist yet?

Have you watched the preloaded green hornet? HTC has a video store with 3d movies, its kinda pricey and the selection is limited.

Yes, I've watched GH already, and I'm ready for more. Ultimately, I'd like to get Avatar and Alice In Wonderland. For now... And once I upgrade my SD card to a 32 gig (probably next week), then I'll add a lot more 3D movies. That's my end-all-be-all goal.

Am I missing something?
I've been looking for a source for 3D movies for this phone since it came out.
I access the "videostore" through HTC Watch and I can find no 3D movies there. As a matter of fact, the Green Hornet they offer at the store doesn't have 3D in the description either.

I just did a Handbrake conversion of the stereoscopic version of Avatar. When you select it to play on the 3VO, and hit the Menu button, you can choose to play the movie in 3D. It looks PHENOMENAL.

I think I'll be converting all my 3D Blu-rays into mp4 for my 3VO. Time to get a 32GB Class 10 SD card! :)

Hey guys, might be a little off topic but everytime I check System Panel Netflix is running in the background even though the last time I used it was Saturday. Is it OK to end it? Is this an example of an app misbehaving & should I uninstall? (if so I have a couple more apps I'll inquire about in the battery thread) I tried a reboot a couple of times. Thanks

End it.

has anyone had an issue with their queue being wrong? The queue on the app isn't the same as the queue that I have when I actually go to netflix's site

I'm jealous. You're living my dream right now... That's EXACTLY where I want to be.

I assume Handbrake is a Blu-Ray conversion application for the PC? Because I've heard that word thrown around these boards a couple of times.

Looks like its going to be $16 a month compared to the $10 im paying now for dvds and streaming. 7.99 for each service seperately. Netflix just had to get greedy ugh. Im probably still gonna do streaming for 7.99 cuz I have several devices for that. Hello Red Box for dvd rentals now:)

it costs much more money to have physical discs plus cost of employees to sort them, postal runs, etc etc.. im going to drop the disk thing and do stream. i have had the "one out at a time" for a while now and the last time i rented a physical disk from 'flix was months and months ago... so im not going to miss the disk either..

besides, netflix wants to do away with the disks and this is the first phase of that process...

New to the forum but would like to ask if I can download and use the netflix application to EVO 3D without paying the monthly charge and watch tv. Thanks guys.

If netflix wants to up prices thats fine, but at least give the customer something in return. Idk maybe actual new releases or new releases added to the stream?

I think the ability to add actual new releases lies with Hollywood and the entertainment industry. They want more people to go out and buy the movies which doesn't happen when you have places like Netflix and Redbox that rent them out at such a cheap price.

more OT.. :(

not necessarily. Vudu and Sony's VOD service get BD and DVD releases on the day they are in stores.

Netflix is under certain contracts the prevent it from getting "day of" releases. that should change in the next couple years or less.. they are paying millions of dollars for the rights to the library they have currently. one they shift the physical DVD side so it stops eating up profits, they can then get on the new release bandwagon.

Just an FYI, but the official Netflix app is now showing up on the Market for the Evo 3D.

Yeah I just got a notice to update my Netflix App. Just advice for anyone that downloaded the APK from the link, Uninstall it and then reinstall it from the market. When you use the update it errors out and tells you it is unsigned or something along those lines.

Wow.. didn't know the app was so big (21 MB). Is it because the app is using the WebKit engine? Seems big for the little functionality the app actually has (can't even view/modify my DVD queue).

put it on your SD card and not worry. bear in mind, if you make it a shortcut the icon will go missing after a soft reset/restart. (HTC is aware).
